And even if you do get SJU ATR remember to put your bid in for a different base. Some guys only spend a month or two in base before transferring.
Good luck.

I'll be in the Aug 1 class too. I don't mind flying the ATR, in fact I think a TProp would be a blast for a year while I ride the seat lock. I just don't want to live in SJU (PIREP from another Eagle guy who did that). I live in ORD and I heard ORD-DFW is an impossible commute. I wonder if ORD-MIA is any easier.

that is right now, there are about 27 new hires coming out of training over the next 2 months for mia emj, plus another 15 transferring down. Go on the union seniority tool from June 1st and look where your seniority number would put you, then go look at the july flow plan and factor those additional people in to your position. I bet you would be like 30 of 80.
I don't want to be pessimist, but I don't think my number in MIA will go above 40 in the next six months. So in the mean time I'll stay in ORD which the movement is better. Currently 257 of 298.

ORD-DFW is impossible. The flight are ALWAYS full, and there is a LOT of crewmembers going back and forth for training every day, AA and AE.. and they will all be senior to you so you will never get the jumpseat.
ORD-MIA is terrible also, not as bad as ORD-DFW but almost.
