Backfill is created when one position at a base transfers to another base, i.e. DCE goes to MCE. When they do not backfill the DCE position is not replaced. Since the company is backfilling, there will be 82 CA upgrades.

Nothing for DFW or CRJ in the northeast. Heard a rumor this week that the CRJ will be making a return this fall in DFW. Maybe this is a precursor to that.

That's how I haven't hold a line yet in ORD, people moves from everywhere and push you down in the list. And as someone comes, others go.
Usually, whatever is left out of that bid, will go straight to new hires. You can assure that there will be lots of SJU ATR's positions for new hires.

82 CA's posted. It might be more than that with backfills.(i.e ATR CA's bidding CRJ or EMJ CA leaving "a vacancy" on ATR. Bottom line, Bid everything you want...

If that becomes a reality, displacements will be massive sending all those new hires holding weekends and 18days off packing to SJU.

Not really, there will be vacancies in the new base... If they were to move it. Example: if they move 10 CRJ to DFW, many EMB DFW will bid it creating vacancies in the EMB.

When will all this potentially be happening? Immediate or down the road a few months?

This bid closes at the end of this month. So my guess is that by next month all that's left will go to new hires.
