Like YOUR generation? How is it that every generation that follows feels they own the moral superiority card? Don't you see the irony of just such a statement? C'mon, man. I'm sure you're a nice guy in the crew lounge and in the cockpit, so why not keep it civil on a forum?
You are right of course, no excuse to become uncivil.

I don't want the best compensation for myself, I want a fair and equitable compensation for the pilot group as a whole. Making 100K vs 85K after taxes is about what? 8K take home difference after fed,med,ss,state,etc taxes. It's really spit. I'd rather take a paycut and see the money goes to a coworker that's more underpaid. Heck, after 20 years here, I get 100% of 8% match. That's an extra 8K extra in compensation alone, about 4 months of new hire pay.
I mean it sounds like you guys got not only Eagle, but the entire industry figured out. But hey, here's my question to you;
The situation at Eagle what it is, WHY did you CHOOSE to take employment there ?
-Pick One;
A. I had no clue about the industry I spent $50-75,000 for qualifiaction in.
B. I failed to do due dilligence in selecting my employer.
C. I DID know Eagle had long upgrade time, but I though coming here anyway wouldn't be a problem if I could complain on an internet forum.
d. All of the above.
Nope, no problem there.
I can't connect the dots on how reationalizing reducing pay or making Eagle an upgrade puppy mill would promote preventing your hypohisis. It's true though that this industry is a product of Airlinii Pilotus. Pilot's greatest strength is their instinct to push anyone under the bus that impedes their own progress across the street. I don't expect that to change, just descend to a point of it becoming intolerable. If I haven't left by then, I will. Listening to some of you guys make that all the more certain IMO.

I'm not complaining about my position. I'm really not trying to complain at all. I just have a problem with people like you that come on here blaming "my generation", I truly don't even know what that means, thus I can only respond with "your generation". As if nothing "your generation" did contributed to the state of the industry.

Mostly C. I came here when it was an 10 year upgrade and that's what I planned on, anything below that is a bonus.

I made no reference to any "generation".
Furthermore, it was YOU who brought up that term in response to me, where I had not used it and also included your approval of those of my generation "dying off". I think you've demonstrated your true colors quite clearly.

I think you need to review this thread, my friend. If you do, you'll note my comment of sadness where Eagle is going to be a reference to SOME of the "dregs" that have been hired lately, namely those that are SUPPOSED to be on the same team attacking one another. It was in reference to the inter-airline bickering going on, primarily Mr. Wingtips.

I don't know if this has been posted anywhere, but this seems to confirm that the ATR will in fact be gone by the end of 2013.
Pulled this from AMR's 10-K filing:
In accordance with Section 1110 of the Bankruptcy Code, the Company is currently negotiating with creditors and lessors to restructure certain of its existing financings to reduce its debt burden and optimize its fleet. As of December 31, 2011, the Company had rejected 24 aircraft leases relating to 20 MD-80 aircraft and four Fokker 100 aircraft. In addition, since December 31, 2011, the Company has rejected an additional 9 aircraft leases and mortgages relating to one MD-80 aircraft, seven Boeing 757-200 aircraft, and one Airbus A300-600R aircraft. In addition, the Company filed a motion with the Bankruptcy Court to modify the leases of the Super ATR aircraft. As of February 15, 2012, 21 of the aircraft had been returned to the lessor as allowed under the modified agreement. The remaining 18 aircraft will be returned to the lessor during 2012 and 2013. In January 2012, American entered into agreements under Section 1110(a) of the Bankruptcy Code to retain 350 aircraft, including Boeing 737-800, Boeing 757-200, Boeing 767-300ER, Boeing 777-200ER, Bombardier CRJ-700, and McDonnell Douglas MD-80 aircraft on the terms provided in the related financing documents.
