I just don't like it when a union tells you you're eating steak when it is just a really nice hamburger. Don't get me wrong, we were eating dogfood out of a dumpster. Hopefully I'm wrong and it will be industry leading. I'm not tryin' to take away from the negotiating comittee's hard work, we've just been so underpaid for so long I guess I'm cynical.
Come on man!! Do you realize how you sound? I know you are a little cynical but Colgan pilots just hit the jackpot with this TA and will make out WAY better than we could have ever hoped for on our own. And now before you even have a chance to see the contract and the provisions you are doubting the idea of "industry leading" and would rather compare it to the MEC feeding you "dog food from the dumpster." Industry leading or close to it, it is a huge advance for all of us.

I know you were not trying to sound like jerk. Lets take step back and realize how this contract will greatly affect our lives for the better rather than be the typical cynical pilot who like to complain and moan.

You have been told wrong on dual qual. Once again please wait until the executive summary and full language are released. I have been told early next week for all the content. Nothing is accomplished with "I heard" and "this says this" because it's not out yet.

A lot of the saab guys being displaced should be able to bid into that Q400 position if they want, or a displaced pilot from pinnacle as well. A 9L pilot with lower seniority should not get it ahead of a displaced senior pilot.
This is incorrect. There have not been any talk on fences between the Merger Committees and I can assure you that your idea of displaced Saab guys being able to jump to the Q is something that will need to be negotiated because that is not something "fair and equitable" to all airlines.

Lets not speculate on what "has" been talked about since nothing has been talked about to this point.

I don't believe I was told wrong. I'll wait for the official language but there is language for dual qual but no implementation. They dropped the bidding of dual qual reserves for now. When/if it happens they will get paid at the higher rate.

If there is dual qual language in the ta I will be reading it very carefully. If it is anything near what ta1 contained I would be very concerned about this ratifying. This is a huge issue for all of us.

There is plenty of nuance with this one as it's complicated. A two sentance blurb or a quick chat in the crewroom will not really explain it well. Just wait for the full language explanation and please stop speculating.

How is he supposed to know he just hit the jackpot with this TA when he hasn't even seen the TA yet. If you have and you are calling it a jackpot I'll take your word for it.
"Industry leading" - I bet the previous guy brought that up only because the email brought it up first. They said it, so now that's what we are expecting. I agree whatever we got is a step up, and many would be OK with that. But a step up for colgan is one thing, and to declare it "industry leading" is a whole other level.. like 20 stories higher level. What I think the other guy meant, and what I feel as well, is you (the email) shouldn't put out the term "industry leading" unless it TRULY is. Otherwise that just makes people feel like well, what the other guy said about being fed fake steak or whatever.

Horizon will still be industry leading, looks like we will be about second. Colgan guys will see anywhere from $5-8 hr raises, plus significant work rule improvements as well as better vacation, retirement, and insurance. Pinnacle will see smaller raises but have better work rules and retirement, no more 8 day off months. Mesaba will get better vacation and insurance.
