Pinnacle, Mesaba, Colgan TA

What they probably meant was it's too expensive to bring some of the Colgan Saabs to XJ standards.

Why would they consider fencing only the dash 8 upgrades? Just curious why that would be the only thing fenced and why I could bid a CR2 vacancy but a 9E or XJ pilot could not bid a DH4 vacancy.
No one asked my opinion but I would think a one year fence would be nice. It would just give everyone a chance to digest the new list and contract. There are going to be a lot of changes in the coming year and throw in wholesale movement between the operating certificates and it will get interesting.

That being said, I can only assume that the new agreement will mean an increased staffing level in order to meet reserve requirements and the like. So, we may start seeing positions open up across the board, and having no fences would be nice, even if you are a Colgan FO.
But who knows.

How is he supposed to know he just hit the jackpot with this TA when he hasn't even seen the TA yet. If you have and you are calling it a jackpot I'll take your word for it.
"Industry leading" - I bet the previous guy brought that up only because the email brought it up first. They said it, so now that's what we are expecting. I agree whatever we got is a step up, and many would be OK with that. But a step up for colgan is one thing, and to declare it "industry leading" is a whole other level.. like 20 stories higher level. What I think the other guy meant, and what I feel as well, is you (the email) shouldn't put out the term "industry leading" unless it TRULY is. Otherwise that just makes people feel like well, what the other guy said about being fed fake steak or whatever.

Don't sell me a Buick and tell me it is a Cadillac. Small difference, but don't bend the truth. If you're going to talk the talk......

okay, 3rd year FO pay CRJ200 at AWAC is $39, I heard they have a great deal of soft money.
I just don't like it when a union tells you you're eating steak when it is just a really nice hamburger. Don't get me wrong, we were eating dogfood out of a dumpster. Hopefully I'm wrong and it will be industry leading. I'm not tryin' to take away from the negotiating comittee's hard work, we've just been so underpaid for so long I guess I'm cynical.

Food for thought. NOBODY has an industry leading contract in ALL provisions. That's just the nature of negotiating. Every "Industry Leading" contract I've seen, which is most of them, have some great provisions and others that are just ok, but when taken as a whole can be considered "industry leading".
Perhaps we should all wait until we actually SEE the new contract before making such bold statements.

Wow the negativity is astounding. First it was "your never going to see a contract when negotiating with Pinnacle management". Now that we have the TA, its "your contract is going to suck".
We have not even seen the contract yet unless your a JNC member. Not even the MEC's have it yet.

I'm just gonna say the truth probably lies somewhere in between. It's not gonna necessarily be as good as some would hope, but we have to be realistic. And I doubt our JNC would have let the big issues slide to below what they believe to be "industry leading". It's obviously "Mesaba Contract, Plus" and I look forward to reading it.

I asked this question on another thread, but haven't had the time to go through and find it, but can anyone speak to the "call in honest" policy? Last I 'heard' they were trying to get rid of it. Anyone know anything? Any reps care to take this one?
