XJ 9E 9L SLI Thread

I wouldn't say worst idea ever. it was just an attempt at a compromise. Something different than just DOH that you guys are all stuck on.
It wasn't designed to hurt career FO's either. If a guy wants to or has to be a career FO than how is he at ANY disadvantage by being at the top of an FO list. AS long as no one bids ahead of him there is no difference. He gets to control is own situation.
Whatever though. Its just an idea.
For the record, DOH, IS the worst idea ever!
Let's wait and see how the arbitrator rules. I'd be willing to bet some of you guys will be begging for my "worst idea ever !"

We will have to wait and see what the arbitrator comes up with, but junior Colgan guys that were fortunate enough to upgrade early are going to be junior captains a long time if XJ and 9E FOs are willing to change bases, no matter how they integrate the lists.

I would agree thats already a forgone conclusion unless some sort of fence is put up...which I highly doubt, considering the 9L boys and girls got the most gains out of the contract. Look at it this way would you rather be a captain on reserve for the next three years making captain pay or sit around 60%-90% down the FO list, that is if they do DOH

I think if the colgan guys got relative seniority it would be a windfall, which per alpa merger policy you can't incur...I could see 9E/XJ relative and then put DH for 9L guys after the relative is settled....

Many 9L pilots would disagree that we're receiving any sort of windfall by relative seniority...which is why this will go to an arbitrator.

I'm starting to wonder if some people don't even know what Relative Seniority means. I know some people can't stant the thought of having a person who has been flying for three years be next to them on a seniority list when they have been flying for 5 years. If your halfway up your list and you remain halfway up the new list why should you give a damn who is next to you on the new list?
On the other hand, why should someone from one airline who is halfway up their list be pushed back towards the bottom of a new list? Because they been flying 121 for a year or two less then you? No one gets credit for 121 time served. If that is what makes sense then push for a national seniority list.
We should all just sit back, relax and wait for the people who are tasked with the job get it done. ...or you can keep the debate going but you might as well stick your head in a vice!
