As for the 120 hours, don't shoot the messenger. I'm just simply repeating what this gentleman said.
The interview is roughly around 4 hours. They asked me if I had the time for the written and and sim today and I told them I had a prior obligation.Although that wasn't my real excuse it worked and they had no problem accommodating my needs.
As for the typical interview process, 4 hours same day everything.I'd say it took roughly 3 and a half for the whole interview process. The most time consuming part of the day was the HR papers and what not.The interview, sim, is the quick stuff.
QUESTION though. My good buddy took the written, and he told me, he had a lot of instrument questions. Any insight as to what kind of questions you folks all had that actually went through with the interview?I read prior, I'm thinking it was Cruz's post where he had noted there were ATP questions..I never did my ATP written as of yet, and Stuart know's this. So I'm just curious as to what I should generally expect.

"§ 121.470 Applicability.
This subpart prescribes flight time limitations and rest requirements for domestic operations, except that:
(a) Certificate holders conducting operations with airplanes having a passenger seat configuration of 30 seats or fewer, excluding each crewmember seat, and a payload capacity of 7,500 pounds or less, may comply with the applicable requirements of §§135.261 through 135.273 of this chapter."
Use to fly "MAX" hours (120) back in the summers at Colgan on the 1900...

Riiiiight!
That's really disheartening because at one time I had considered pursuing a career with GIA, especially when I had learned that the Academy was gone. I really thought that GIA was on the up and up when they dissovled the Academy. Being that they are headquartered at FLL and I wouldn't have mind enjoying a career where I could possibly be home every night really appealed to me. I live in West Palm Beach, FL. Now that this turn of events has occurred, they're off my list again.

Commuting to a $19 per hour job? How could you possibly afford that?
Monthly guarantee 75 hours yields $1425 gross. After taxes and insurance that is $1000, maybe $1100 take home. At 85 hours that jumps to a whopping $1200ish.
Just for fun, why not spend a couple minutes doing a budget.
This would be how mine would look:
Rent: 525 (includes utilities)
Car insurance: 60
Gas: 50
Phone: 65
Internet: 25
Groceries: 200
Crash pad: 150-200
(No car payment or loans)
Total: 1075-1125
At 80 hours, I break even as long as I don't have to pay for:
a Medical
Car repairs
a Uniform
Gifts
Flowers for the SO to make up for only being home one night per week
How does yours look??

Just heard they can do the 120 a month as for the expenses I'm not a broke college grad. I have a wife that makes decent money and I pay $0 for insurance so I wont even have that taken out of my check. I'll commute home on my days off and see her then otherwise I'll stay in a crash pad during my time there.
