First off none of us are paying for anything. They revoked the entire PFT. Secondly the AOL email is for an outside recruiter they used to help the HR department in this hiring swing. Thirdly I know you think you are big boy on campus because you fly an RJ for Eagle, but you are no better than any one. You fly an airplane and get paid just the same as anyone else. I'm not lowering any bars for anyone by flying for GIA. In fact GIA pays more per hour than GLA does. Get off of your mini horse and stay in the Eagle thread.

And to give you a bit of advice for training, don't study anything that you find online or out of Lakes. Airlines write their own procedures and limitations, you will end up just confusing your self and getting things messed up. If anything go and read the 121 FAR and AIM, but GIA might have stricter rules than the 121 FAR so again don't study anything that is company specific. The airlines write their own manuals and might explain the system different and this could lead to confusion as well. Please put away the Lakes profiles, they will be different that GIA. At Eagle we have 2 operating certificates and on T/O we do the landing gear retraction call different. Something that simple can trow you off on V1 cut and there goes the check ride.
And I don't think I am better than any other human being.

Better yet why don't you tell them how bad they are for paying less per hour than GIA on the same airplane and their EMB 120. GLA guys have all been great to me and I would have gone their if I was given the opportunity, but I wasn't so off I go to GIA.

Give me a break, everyone in this profession and others undertakes hardships and sacrifices to have the life they want. I have worked in another field and aviation is a cake walk in comparison, if you arent happy doing what your doing there are lots of other great careers. Great Lakes operates the same as these guys, why dont you walk in that crew room and tell those guys how you feel and what they all need to do, so you can have an easier time.
For the guys being hired at GIA, I would definately read over the contract though, they seem to be hiring lower time guys when the market dictates they could be more picky. It is a big enough contract where it could really be a pain if things don't go as planned.

Nobody said I wasn't happy doing what I was doing, but it's sad when we have guys willing to work for free or pay to do commercial flying. Sorry I went on a rant, but I am sitting here at Eagle hearing everyday how I need I need to vote on concessions because there are other airlines who are able to do it cheaper because pilots are willing to work for nothing just so they can fly the fleet and routes. Now I am not believing everything management is trowing out here but I hate how WE as pilots continue to put ourselves in thins situation.

VPAA Co.
Order 2011-11-32
OST-2011-0198 - Registration of Name Change and Reissuance of Commuter Air Carrier Authority
Issued and Served November 28, 2011
Order Reissuing Commuter Air Carrier Authorization
On October 28, 2011, VPAA Co., a US commuter air carrier1, filed an application in Docket OST-2011-0198 requesting reissuance of its commuter authorization in the name of “Silver Airways Corp.” VPAA states that it now wishes to change its corporate name to better harmonize the company’s corporate and business names. Moreover, the air carrier states that this is a change in corporate name only and does not constitute a change in operations, ownership, or management and that the change in the corporate name was accomplished on November 1, 2011, by an amendment to its articles of incorporation. Furthermore, the air carrier states that it will continue to perform some of its operations using the trade names “Gulfstream International Airlines,” “Island Air,” “Continental Connection,” and “United Express,” and also wishes to register the new trade names “Silver Airways” and “Go Silver.”
Part 215 of the Department’s regulations provides that any air carrier wishing to change its name must first register that name with the Department. The rule further states that the Department may register such name after the air carrier gives notification to similarly named air carriers of the proposed use of the name. In this case, there are no similarly named air carriers.
By this order, we reissue the Commuter Air Carrier Authorization held by VPAA to reflect the change in corporate name.
