For those of you who made it in congrats, despite the seemingly hot and cold responses about GIA, its good to see the PFT part of things has changed.
When you guys applied is it me or was the application just a generic application? Seems like at the end is when you put your licenses and qualifications. Just making sure that was right since it seemed very different from any pilot application I have done. Looked more like an app for Target than anything. Would it be beneficial to e-mail them as well? I do not know what process you guys followed into it.

I am trying to be a professional pilot, people like you guys who don't care about the compensation because you could get another job or be happy flying but being financially unstable are making it extremely hard because you are willing to pay your employer just so you can fly the fleet and routes. I don't care how you spin it, you guys are paying to work somewhere just so you can fly. You guys don't like people calling you scumbags or calling GIA bottom feeder and you tell us how this isn't the GIA of old.
Let me get this straight, one of you guys got a DUI and no one is hiring you and the other failed 3 check rides due to lack of experience and trying to jump the gun (same reason Lakes didn't hire you). I am sorry guys but your argument is **** poor. Sorry for the rant

Sincerely,
What

First off none of us are paying for anything; they revoked the entire PFT. Secondly the AOL email is for an outside recruiter they used to help the HR department in this hiring swing. Thirdly I know you think you are big boy on campus because you fly an RJ for Eagle, but you are no better than any one. You fly an airplane and get paid just the same as anyone else. I'm not lowering any bars for anyone by flying for GIA. In fact GIA pays more per hour than GLA does. Get off of your mini horse and stay in the Eagle thread.

Let me get this right, I'd be happy paying someone to let me fly their Commercial Aircraft just so I can fly the airplane and travel to the destinations where I will be taking the "other" paying passengers to. You guys will be the 20th paying passenger on that 1900, SAD!!!

For the guys being hired at GIA, I would definately read over the contract though, they seem to be hiring lower time guys when the market dictates they could be more picky. It is a big enough contract where it could really be a pain if things don't go as planned.

There is a lot of potential for it to mimic GLA's where if they furlough you, you have to come back if they recall or end up paying off the contract. The only upside to this is it is pro rated so hopefully if it were to happen it would be towards the end. It is a concern of mine and others.
