gojo,

Stop grinding your ax with Delta management on me. I as a Delta pilot did NOT cause your situation. Boomer was a Comair guy until they shut the doors. He made a joke, just like he's done over and over about Comair. I thought it was funny. He comes on the Delta thread and makes jokes. We have a good time. He comes to the Delta thread with NO ill will towards Delta pilots because he knows what happened to Comair was not Delta pilots fault.

When I was at Continental Express, CAL did some mean things to us. The very day that they were contractually able to remove 25% of our fleet(69 airplanes) and hand it to a different regional they did. They awarded the flying to the lowest bidder, Chautaqua. Their pilots made significantly less money then us. I didn't take that out on CAL pilots, becuase they didn't make those decisions. Crappy things happen in this industry, & those things 99% of the time are done by management. If you can't handle that, then you should probably leave the industry.

What has happened to Pinnacle sucks. The same can be said for Eastern, Pan Am, Braniff, SkyBus, Aloha, ATA, & TWA to name a few. Were you sympathetic to NWA furloughs as Pinnacle/Mesaba/Compass grew at their expense? How about Delta furloughs as ASA/Skywest/Comair/Freedom grew at their expense?

I'm sorry for what is happening, & I hope everyone comes out good. But once again, I didn't cause it so take your ax elsewhere to grind.

You know what you keep forgetting? How many of those pilots (Pinnacle/Mesaba/Compass) actually had a affirmative HAND in causing the NWA furloughs? How many of the ASA/Skywest/Comair/Freedom pilots can you NAME who voted on any pact which was s significant cause of Delta pilots being furloughed?

You can't and that's because none of them did. They took jobs, that's it. As far as I know, none of them told management that they would gladly take a pay raise even if it resulted in other pilots' jobs being lost. None, nada, didn't happen.

And therein lies the difference.

So legacy pilots should not try to regain flying. Got it. We should shrink to keep you growing.

Who said anything about growing? I would have been happy with status quo. But why are we talking about hypotheticals? You drew your line in the sand. Good luck to us all.

So legacies pilots should negotiate status quo for you. Got it. By the way I voted no on the last contract because it did not recapture all the flying.

No. I don't think so. By taking the job they facilitated the ability for management to outsource Mainline flying. Man up and take responsibility.

One Comair memo came out in June that stated our fleet size and our very future hinged on the Delta Pilot TA.

That memo may have been written in CVG, but I imagine it was approved in ATL. And I don't think there was an ALPA pilot sitting at Woolworth's desk when that happened.

I'll tell it as I see it, and I'm not thrilled that Comair planes wound up at 7 other DCI carriers. But in Pilot-vs-Pilot, management always wins.

Actually, there was quite a different relationship between 9E/XJ/CZ with NWA, than DAL had with its regionals. NWA pilots were given jobs at the regionals if they wanted them. The check airman that trained me on the CRJ was a NWA furlough. We had flow backs at XJ, and Compass could have been flushed completely had NWA furloughed. I can tell you that Delta has been a very different animal to deal with since the merger between DAL/NWA. We had a much stronger relationship with mainline pilots than we do now.
