Pinnacle TA consequences forSkyWest/Expessjet

You are correct, but those were money bleeding contracts that 9E needed to get out of ASAP. Once Delta began providing financing, it was game over. Skyw Inc. has been smart about its bidding over the years and isn't as exposed to the same volatility as 9E.
I completely agree that we are next on Delta's hit list, but they don't have a gun to our heads like 9E. A rate reset might be an option, but simply holding out on payments and forcing bankruptcy isn't a likely scenario.
Whether or not our company wants to play hardball with two stubborn negotiating committees (LXJT/LASA) and cry poor due to creative accounting is a different story. There is no safe regional, but there are certainly those that will be able to ride this out better than others.

SKW always seems to come out just fine due to their diversity. Even if you guys are in Delta's crosshairs I'd be willing to bet you make it out just fine.

Thanks for your contributions gents. Honestly I could care less what you vote. I would understand it if you vote yes. And I would understand if you vote no. In either case I am just curious as to how the outcome, one way or the other, will effect my company. SkyWest, Inc (Expressjet/ASA). I think you are very naive if you think this is going to catch SkyWest inc by surprise regardless of the outcome. Firm order for 200 airplanes. (100 firm, 100 option) right when our CPA is ending ...
For what it's worth; 2nd year pay on the -700 is $38 at SkyWest. Soft credit so you could easily credit 100 / month. Now, would you want to start over at year 1 bottom of the list anywhere ? Of course not... Which is why I sincerely hope it works out for you gents (and girls).
Stay safe. 303.

so in the name of Unity and Brotherhood and not dragging the industry down how many of you are willing to get us hired on at your airline with our current longevity/seniority? crickets.....
#1 - why should any unionized group care how a non-unionized group does based on our hard fought contracts. Skywest guys, go ALPA, then complain.
#2 - if you are on a portion of the list not subject to immediate furlough, why would you vote to shut your company down sooner since you start over at year 1 pay.
Year 4 TA pay is about $37 I believe. Well, year one everywhere is $20, and reserve. So, get shafted with pay and schedule, or lose pay rate and make up for it by bidding 18 days off and picking up red flag trips?? Hm.. Not so easy is it?

2.) you're company will not shut down overnight. It would wind down over a course of 1yr+. Either way 65% will need to look for a job regardless.
3.) year 2 here at OO is 38. And tops at 48. I know you can do math so which one has the greater earning potential?
Food for thought, the majors won't be hiring like gangbusters as much as everyone believes.
The end of SKYW Inc's current CPAs are in 2017, which ironically is the same time the aircraft leases end(on the SKYW financed planes) and the same time the MRJs come online. I'm all for speculation but 4 years from now is a stretch and most of us will have moved on. In the near term, there is not much Delta can do to Inc outside of a rate reset

Then you guys will have no problem negotiating a stronger contract than you currently have, regardless of the 9E contract. All I keep hearing is SKW has strong financials and strong diversity. When you negotiate reach deep in the pockets and take your fair share. However 9E has neither strong diversity, strong financials, or strong management. I will take what I can get cash out and move out of this industry all together. You guys fight your fight and we will fight ours. Go Jets already set the floor of the industry as far as wages and QOl goes. Our company directly sighted them and Compass's longevity as the reason for having to agree to this crappy contract.
