AWAC Pilots reach a TA with managment
#51
Does it seem to anyone else that management and alpa are now suddenly trying to get these TAs done and voted in to lock in pilots to long term deals right before the coming pilot shortage. In the next couple years our leverage will never be higher. Why agree to a mediocre long term deal now? I'm not speaking of air whiskey specifically just airline pilot in general. Delta pilots could smell a better deal if they hold out so why can't regional pilots?
The looming pilot shortage has no effect for delta now, but it has a real effect on regionals today. Having talked to the interviewers at AWAC the bottom of the barrel has been scraped. The next couple years, either regionals will take a much reduced schedule (see republic) or something in Congress has got to give. But I doubt it.

I don't know how this thread turned into a pi$$ing match between PDT and AWAC pilots... I know from experience that the AWAC pilot group is an awesome group of people. Congrats on the TA! I sincerely hope it is everything you have been fighting for.

Yes I agree! It's easy for someone to twist a statement. AWAC hopefully now will have a fix cost nailed down along with improving an already good contract.
Cheers!

Because you're so deluded that you think lowering the bar even further is justifiable if it will get YOU to a major just a little bit quicker.
This industry is already a joke, and losers like you who care about nothing but airplanes don't see the value in trying to raise the standards. Just because airlines are about cost doesn't mean it's your job to subsidize the feed with your already pathetic paycheck.

Finally, some useful information. So many different threads for different airlines, yet always I see the same 3 people arguing about the same stuff over and over.

Dude what the hell are you talking about?? Do you not realize that Piedmont went from 110 planes down to 37 plus or minus a few? I've done good only because I've lived in base my stay here and I've always been paid what I was due while working here.
Is Piedmont Perfect??? Hell no it's not and 2 years ago when all our planes were timing out we all wondered if we'd have jobs here. Who wants a senior airline that's paying many captains close to 90-100k a year to fly 37 seat aging turbo props????
What are our mistakes??? What's PSA's mistakes?? What's Envoy's mistakes? What's Mesa's mistakes?? What's GoJet's mistakes? What's TSA's mistake?? What's SkyWest's mistake???What's republic's mistakes??
We've had 7 year FO's at Piedmont that are now not only Captains but about a year in a half from flowing to American.
If that's all a mistake then I'd say it wasn't a bad one.
