I would agree with that assessment

I'm sure you think it's great and so would I. I'd especially like to meet some nice Belgian women but for how long? If you regularly overnight in Brussels how many times can you go to that museum and still enjoy it?

I have no problem with enjoying your job. I enjoy work when I am there, but it's still work.

Again, if you have any responsibility to your company at all it is not a day off. That was my original point.
I agree. I can't imagine getting giddy over a museum. Actually going ANYWHERE without your spouse or sig. other(kids, GF etc) flat out blows.
This gives credence to my point of rsv days off at home.

most new hires/ any one less than two years will have 12 to 11 days off. of those 11-12 days you will lose another 5-7 because start times are always 3am and then they push you to 11pm res the last day. no way to get home until your days off. On avg. they would give 6 days on two days off, then another six days. I was home less than 12 hours in two weeks. I would not even break 75 hours because they would dhd me outsome where wait six hours then dhd me again during those 6 days. go somewhere else.

I flew 115hrs as a rsv in June on the S5 side. 6 of that was OT on a day trip that I got 2 days off in July replaced. This place is what you make of it, and we're starving for pilots.

I average 14/15 days off a month, 3 of 4 trips 100% commuteable. Was reserve for 4 months. Of course I'm based in a hub this would not happen in an outstation.

I only did 5 days of RSV on the S5 side then have consistently held a line with at least 14-15 off and sometimes 16. Second month of 117 regs was only 12 off but that seems to have been a fluke. Have been here 18 months. Usually credit 88-105 hrs a month (average is 92 and I don't pick up extra flying!).
Commutability is another story. Maybe one trip a month commutable but can bid and hold long overnights in my home city 1-5 of those per month so that kind of makes up for the lack of commutability.

Out station based in "Mecca"...aka "the mother land"...aka Indy.

You have a very narrow view of enjoyment.

One full month of reserve, flew 55, credited 63. Generally 5-6 days on followed by 2-3 days off

First two months w/ a line, minimum 12 days off, pretty much non-commutable (early shows late finishes)

After that, been averaging around 13-15 days off, and about two-thirds of the pairings have been commutable. Outstation based.

YMMV depending on base, of course.

Yes. ATP mins, a pulse, and a willingness to work at the worst airline in the world. Welcome to the family.

God Bless.
