Republic Questions

That is not what the letter said. It is a misinterpretation by those that want to see the outstation model disappear. The quote was "One topic we briefly touched on was an initiative that our mainline partners are undertaking to concentrate their regional partners’ flying by hub." This does not mean outstation basing is going anywhre. It means that mainline only wants a few regional operators in each hub.
Also, the most junior GSO FO has a hire date of early July.
Just FYI.
here we go again.
6 months from now when these changes actually start coming then we'll see how RAH reacts. But one thing you left out from the sermon was that they wanted reserves and assets better utilized in those hubs. Having reserves in IND/CMH/GSO/MCI/SDF doesn't really meet that initiative so we'll see.

Personally, I hope to see outstation basing go by the way side because it will do wonders for my quality of life. I know this company will do everything they can to save a dollar - whether its passing hotel costs on to the crewmembers or interpreting contracts the way they see fit in the moment.

Well hopefully we can start running pairings again here soon so we can actually get real numbers and facts. Simplifying our basing and hub structure would likely do wonders for efficiency and staffing. (For now)

okay so i'm confused, most junior FO in GSO july 13 or 14?
Big difference, very important. Any chance if GSO closes down in order to do hubs that there would be a CLT base? How big are republics ops through CLT?
CLT is not a ten minute drive its 1.5hrs, but... there are many flights so either driving or flying CLT is an easy commute. Much easier than anything i've got right now....
what is the signing bonus at for the E170/E175 now? How much of that is lost to taxes?
Are there pay rigs for reserve pilots if you fly: IE 4 hour minimum for short call, 5 hour minimum for Airport Reserve?
What is the actual pay scale?
Can you change equipment as an FO, as in take the Q for the high signing bonus then bid to E170/E175 after first year?

Most junior GSO FO is July '13 per the september awards
Haven't heard much rumor of a CLT base. I think most CLT flying comes from GSO DCA and PHL, but i'm not on the YX side of the house so someone else might be able to give more insight there.
Last I heard a month ago, signing bonus for Ejet was 7k, Q400 is 12k. Ejet has a 2 year, 20k training contract that is prorated from completion of training. Leave after a year and owe 10k, etc. Tax-wise, I saw about 30% come out of the two bonus checks, but then I got most if not all back in tax returns. Bonuses are taxed at the highest bracket initially.
We currently have no rigs or min day. Only exception is reserves get 4hrs min/day if they're used. Currently no long call or airport reserve for pilots, only 1.5hr short call.
FO Pay Scale from our current contract c.2003:
1. 22.95
2. 30.88
3. 35.52
4. 36.62
Seat lock: currently a hot button issue. Company says when you're hired into the Q that there's a 1 year lock, but the company has also had a standing policy that FO's are seat locked until upgrade, and after that the only way to move around is if a pay raise is involved (i.e. moving from the 145 to 170). Any current Q drivers on here could give you a better picture on what's happening there.
EFBs: Pilots currently have iPads. Once 80% of the pilots complete the required training(it takes an hour, get it done), a 6 month trial starts carrying paper and iPads, and then in theory we'll start ditching paper. Until then we're still paper.

If you are a new hire (or perspective hire), be prepared to stay on the Q400 until we achieve a new CBA or until you are senior enough to upgrade to CA. Which BTW, stands at about 7 years for all equipment types.

To be clear for the original poster, the contract says the following:
As for your mention of "pay raise" to change types, that language does not apply and is strictly reserved for Captains. As referenced below in Article 7.C.9.b:

In short, under the current CBA, the company is in violation if any FOs transition between Q400 and E170 without also offering that vacancy to all FOs. It's always possible (and likely) that they will simply do whatever they want and fight it out through arbitration. Full disclosure: short of a furlough event, fleet reduction, or hybrid base (such as HNL), the company has NEVER allowed FOs to bid across types.
