I highly doubt we are going to hear about additional flying in the near future. United recently wanted to increase the Q400 flying and Republic didn't even want to do that. Furthermore, BB and Co are desperatly trying to seek relief on the "absurd 1500 hour rule" (his words not mine). It seems that he believes his best bet at achieving this is finding reasons to cut flying to smaller cities (see the downsizing of CHQ). If he takes on more large jet "regional" flying (and the need for more pilots) it would be very difficult for him to make the case to Congress and the FAA that he needs the relief to ensure feed to small cities and not just feed into his wallet.

Actually it's 41 aircraft (including spares).

Please, if you're going to use scare tactics, at least make certain they are accurate!

Why didn't regionals complain about trying to get pilots when you needed 3k to even touch a jet back in the 90's?

Bedford will have 37 airplanes worth of pilots to place somewhere at his discretion. The additional flying is not a guess on my part. Regardless of his political BS, he is in final talks with a carrier.

He's not in talks for any new planes, in his Last email he said going from 550 to 300 planes. I forget the exact number but some like that. Point is no new contract any time soon, no upgrades as well

If you're referring to RJET, the company has only @230 aircraft.

Wow you must be on some über secret mailing list. I know we run a lean operation but never realized 2000 pilots supported 550 airframes.

He receives the email via his aluminum foil hat. It improves the reception!

"What's the frequency, Dan?!"

Regardless of what actually happens aircraft-wise, that was incorrect data, incorrectly reported by a news agency and read and spread by people who didn't look at the source material. About the same as believing everything you hear about aviation on CNN when they report on an accident.
