Republic Airways Holdings chairman, president and CEO Bryan Bedford said FAA’s requirement that pilots accumulate 1,500 flying hours before being hired by an airline is “leading to nationwide problems” and needs to be ...
I'd bet 90% of new hires don't even have 1,500 hours. Almost all are restricted ATP or whatever it is. Pay more and you might actually get someone qualified to do it!

they are downing sizing republic, even if you get a line your not really off reserve. for new hires plan a year before you get a line. 4-5 hotels a month when you do. 8 year upgrade. go to compass, psa, mesa, piedmont.

Republic Questions
It's really hard to gauge the upgrade because of the lack of hiring between 08'-11' plus RAH's unknown contract situation in the next year... attrition seems to be taking care of the downsizing and they are not hiring like crazy. I think if RAH gets a decent contract it may not be a bad place to go. It's anyone's guess though...

Market planning shows a total of 38 E145s, all operating for Delta. It was 38 during July and 37 in October.

I agree with this 100%. If you want to be a part of a dysfunctional pilot group then come to Republic. I've been here 5 months and I'm already regretting my decision. Morale is in the toilet and I'm staring down a likely lengthy upgrade time with all the CHQ dudes switching over due to the downsizing. Do yourself a favor and steer clear of this place.

60? No, only 37. That will be offset by additional 170s to be announced in the near future.

Republic was a good place to go 10 years ago, but not now. If you go there do not base your decision on anything HR tells you ( you will upgrade in a year, we will have a new contract in a year, FOs are getting a pay raise, etc). They will say anything to get pilots right now. Upgrade will never be a very long time, especially when the 145s go to the boneyard. Much better places to go,so do your research.
