so where did the other 5,900 come from? All holidays? Isn't it only a handful of holidays that get paid and then it is only 75 for the holiday? I guess you are one of the guys that counts your per diem.

Congratulations
First, I've never flown 100 hours a month. I managed to credit 100 hours a month on reserve. One of the few work rules on reserve is a 4 hour min day when used. Second, I'm not Columbus based. Third, throw in some per diem (yes I count per diem as income). Fourth, holidays are paid at an additional 4 hours on top of the day.

If you don't believe me I would gladly PM you whatever info you need.

I am on the 170 and hold a line now. The average award credit is between 80-90 hours a month. The average days off is 14.

Haters gonna hate! Like I said earlier, this place sucks but it is what you make of it. I am not defending it all. I have my apps out there like the rest of the world.

There is money to be made if you don't sit around your crashpad pouting to mommy and daddy on the phone all day.

Granted, I was hired Feb 1 so there is a month missing, but my first-year W2 showed $18,900.

I arrived before the signing bonus era.

Do the banks let you count per diem as income also when applying for a mortgage?
How many holidays are there? I thought it was only five they paid for.
So, what is the word on JD getting fired?

Per diem IS income. You wouldn't count it if you had to use it towards hotel rooms, but those are provided at all airlines I know of. You have a food budget at home with a normal 9 to 5 job, and you can keep a food budget on the road also. I personally can carry 4 prepared meals complete with salads and drinks on a four day trip. It doesn't cost any more to prepare it at home than if you live and eat it at home. Finally any per diem you earn above the daily amount the government allows pre tax you have to pay tax on it if you don't provide receipts for it. No matter how you slice it per diem is income, it's up to you how much of it you BLOW on the road eating big expensive meals or finding a way to entertain yourself. And I can attest it is very easy to Credit over 100 hours a month (with current staffing issues) on reserve and 85-90 as a line holder with 14-15 days off. I typically fly 4 four days a month. That said we still need/deserve better contracts/pay/QOL language at all regional airlines.

1.) I don't know, I'm a regional FO who can't afford a mortgage, but the money does go in my pocket!
2.) Off the top of my head I can count 7 holidays.
3.) Who's JD?
4.) Check out this award that the company just gave out! For all you haters that say this company doesn't care about it's employees I beg to differ! Sounds like a little slice of heaven on earth!

Pilot scores Celebration of Stars prize of hotel room, buffet, valet parking
If you attended the Celebration of Stars event last weekend in Indianapolis you might recall an opportunity to win a Bed and Breakfast Package at the Indianapolis Marriott. Hundreds entered a ticket in hopes of winning the package, which included:

One night stay for two in a king or double/double guestroom
Breakfast buffet for two at Circle City Bar and Grille
Complimentary valet parking for one vehicle

One day! One day!

No one was a fan of JD. And I've possibly been on RSV at this company longer than you've been employed here. Crediting 100hrs is a unicorn. Yes, some people have done it, but if you are a 23yr old with no family, a crappy crash pad and you pick up trips and waive the contract all day, then maybe you could consistently get 85hrs but 100 is not a norm.
