Based on this, is there a need to hire people into the Q now?

Yes, because it has never been properly staffed. The majority of flights right now are CA on CA because CAs are dual seat qualified.

I will be a new hire for Shuttle, I have a Nov. 10 class. Bidding on the Junior EWR base with a LGA backup. If I get the EWR base and down the road in a few months to a year when the Q's stop flying and Chautauqua merges, will I be bumped from my EWR base or place on reserve in favor of the already LGA or EWR base Q400 and E145 crews?

The 357 NC put out a negotiations update discussing a LOA to increase FO pay. Haven't they tried this before? Sounds like they are sympathetic to the RAH staffing issues ***

Many FOs at RAH are stuck at 36.62, so it would make sense for the IBT to push a LOA. Or maybe BB just offers 20K bonuses for new hires.

I agree. No waivers, No favors. I believe this move is from our NC to show the NMB ahead of the Oct 22 meeting how unwilling the company is to move forward on even the simplest of issues. They have spent months trying to negotiate and the company has done nothing but continue to drag their feet. The FO payraise is something most people want on paper (even the company if they truly want to come close to filling classes) and it will show the company is unwilling to move in a positive direction.

While I agree with you in principle and would also vote no on this proposal, I do find it very interesting that this is your line in the sand. You were a vocal YES vote on the garbage TA that would harm us all, but you call for a shoot down of pay raise relief for FOs because your afraid it weakens negotiating capital. Both of these things weakens our group. How is this not a double standard?

I voted yes because I viewed the ta as a springboard for better things to come(i.e. a solid ta in three years, or so).
