Regardless, are you willing to risk leaving your current job in order to accept a Shuttle America or Chautauqua class only to show up and learn that you've been mislead and now you're on the Q400 and about to be based in PIT?

If you're looking for the New York area, I'd highly recommend Expressjet EWR.
I highly doubt DL will be using it's 717's on "Shuttle" routes. Their press release specifically stated that it will use the 717's to replace CRJ2's for better capacity, which seems totally logical! Just my 2 cents worth.

When did you start working there? What was your motivation to go there instead of other airlines that are hiring? Actually not asking to troll/flame - actually to help spare others from making the same mistakes. I have a few friends with class dates coming up and I know there is no way to convince them otherwise, but maybe I can stop a few who are considering.

Default Shady place to work for sure

I just recently interviewed with this carrier and I am already working as a First Officer with another carrier. I heard alot of things about RAH and how is the culture there but didnt believe it till I got glimpses of it in the interview it self. During the presentation we were told there r 4 upcoming classes coming up August 28 for Q400, Sept 4 ERJ145 Chautauqua, Oct 1 E170 Republic and then another Q400 in October. You have the option to bypass up to 3 classes and the 4th one you must take otherwise offer is withdrawn. I went in for my HR portion of the interview and the FIRST question I was asked was WILL YOU ACCEPT A Q400 class, and I said I would prefer a jet class first to enhance my skills and experience as i am already flying a prop for my current airline. And she said still the current prop is not as advanced and fast as Q400, NO **** I know that but still its a prop. She said the next jet class is Sept 4 for e145, i said I would take that if given the offer even though I wanted e170. But its a jet so i would still take it. I was done with my HR portion and there were 4 other applicants who had told me that when we walked in she asked us for the Q400 and to them she said Q400 is the only classes we are offering, there are no more classes at ALL. That was the first hint of shady place that there not even consistent with their offers, wonder how they would be as employers. Well I did really well at the interview and it was a cake interview. I got a call for the offer and she said there r 3 classes coming up and there all Q400. And I was like i thought there are a few jet classes coming in Sept and Oct, she said no there all filled and all we have is the Q400 and I cant bypass it because your only allowed to bypass 3 and the next 3 open are all Q400. Well my answer was a BIG NO and Thank you and that was it. I didnt find this place impressive from the interview and there are way better regionals out there that one can work for, and I think even my current carrier is alot more consistent with their employees.

Dude already is in a prop. If he wants to fly a jet why do you care? More guys then I can count have left here for far worse work rules to fly 170s at rah. Don't blame them one bit for trying to get ahead.

Exactly!

SkyWest is hiring but you'll go to the Bro as a new hire. But since you're already flying a prop and want a jet, I suppose you'd be better off elsewhere.

It's not SJS, FOs cannot change equipment under the current contract. Since the Q is a new fleet even the most senior FO on the bird is MEGA-junior. What does this mean? This means when you are hired you will be locked into that airplane at THAT relative seniority until those on your equipment are senior enough to upgrade and you can move up. Do you want to commute to PIT or MCI to sit reserve for 6 years just so you can beat your chest on a message board about SJS?

Child, please.

Really, you clowns work at RAH and think he's wrong for passing over the Q? I'd pass over the Q until the time FOs on the Q are senior enough to start upgrading.

There was nothing cooler than sitting reserve on the 145 while the mighty 170 warriors 2+ years junior got 16-18 days off.
