While I have no first hand experience with the Q program, those of my friends that have upgraded have literally scared me enough to remove my CA bid for it. To me, there is NO reason to rush into an upgrade on a machine that is not staffed on the FO side so CA's are flying right seat all the time. No reason to commute from the West Coast to PIT or EWR to get cancelled more than you fly. No reason to fly an airplane that is a ticking time bomb waiting to violate you if you are not 100% on your game.

My hat goes off to the guys and gals out there slaving away on that thing. I know you all will have some incredible stories to tell when that major interview comes your way.
Well then what do you think UAL is planning? They wont tolerate it for long bro. Q program is in serious jeopardy because of cx.
Replace the Qs with those 30 UAL purchased 175s? Funny how they bought the equal number of Qs. They still haven't announced where those are going either. My money is not RAH.

Also the Q is not a bad plane. Just look at Horizon. The problem is RAH and their save a penny here spend $1,000 later mentality. I also don't envy our Q drivers. Company builds their lines to 93 hrs and 12 days off. Uncommutable outstation base trips too.

I wish Bedford was personally liable for this poor performance. I would love it if he got the crap sued out of him by UAL.

Unfortunately I think UAL is stuck with RAH for the time being. No one else is going to fly those Qs for them. United could sue and possibly win damages from the company. It would be great to see the company hurt but I think in the end the hurt would be taken out on the employees so I hope that doesn't happen. I just hope RAH never wins another CPA again

I work at Horizon, and the Q is a big mess here too.

Just left the Republic interview...According to the recruiters the Q400 is completely staffed as of yesterday. As of now all classes going to the 140/145 and 170/175. If anyone wants an update on the interview PM me.

The only reason why Q would be staffed properly as of yesterday would be if the company doesnt accept more airframes. If that was the case, they would have had to disclose it in an Sec filing.

What other kind of lies they told you, like ipgrade times

That actually doesn't seem too far fetched, especially now that the turboprops are included in the total # of airframes in their scope clause

^^^ this is a classic HR move. In april-sept of 2011, they were hiring in the front door and offering furloughs out the back. Thats a direct quote from an RAH hr rep. The Q is understaffed-they just want to ease the minds of the guys joining the company. If you live in one of the bases, thats the only reason to come here-fyi. Once you hold a line in Base, its not the worst situation. good luck

FWIW, they did cancel the "Q Career Day" for 9/5 they were advertising a few days ago (where they pay for hotel and airfare if you're willing to take a Q class).

Fleet plan says 5 more Q's in 4th quarter.
