There was no CFIT, but a crew did come close to a peak in BTV. IIRC, it was approx 650+ feet vertically and 2 miles horizontally from a peak while on a nighttime visual approach. That was from the Director of Operations himself (and I was in the room).
FWIW, no ground prox warnings went off onboard the aircraft.

Sounds about right. If someone *****es on our message board they might update it. Our Teamsters aren't very forward thinking.

Gents,
Please forgive my ignorance.
I have a friend who is interviewing next week, assuming he would get a job offer:
1. What do you think he will be offered for the company/aircraft/base?
2. He lives in NYC right now - is there a magic strategy to get based right away in LGA or EWR?
3. If you are offered a class for a base you don't want - is it possible to turn them down, wait for next class and keep the offer of employment?
4. Almost everyone here seems to dislike the Q. Why? If he is from NYC and gets Q-400 in EWR - could it really be that bad?
Thanks a million!

LGA seems to be junior for Shuttle, EWR is definitely junior on the Q. You get offered classes for certificates and airframes not bases, and you can defer up to 3 times. Once you get to ground you then bid for base. I think your friend could get LGA on Shuttle or Chautauqua, and EWR on Republic Q400 pretty quick if not right out of ground.
