I’m glad I’m not the only one who realized that last sentence is true!

If it's a Bus supremacy you're concerned about, they have no better friend than Max. Enjoy the media circus as Boeing's bank gets reauthorized in September. No subsidy is adequate to keep aircraft lines open for which there are insufficient sales forever.

Insufficient sales? The backorders on the 737 are around 5,000 total. They're within 1,000 of the A320. Boeing will have these problems solved and be selling airplanes again before they get through a tenth of their current book.

As proved by the A380 and soon to be shown again with the A400M.

Unairworthy, so about 5,000 cases of buyer's remorse. There's a lot went wrong here and a lot to fix. The market will decide. The market for a commercial airliner lies in the confidence of its fare paying passengers. Very old school.

I hope you're right.

While it is true that fare paying passengers have an impact on the viability of an aircraft, 90% of passengers have a rather short memory with these things. The 747's spontaneously opening cargo doors and 737's reversing hydraulic rudder control valves that led to high profile accidents some decades ago have all but disappeared from public knowledge today. The 787s that were catching fire left and right are fixed and flying full everywhere you look and those international news stories were just a few years ago. This too shall pass.

1 week after the 737 MAX is back flying, no passengers will remember.

Airlines who have them or plan to buy them won't have any problem either. Instead of saying, "Enjoy flying on board our new 737 MAX" they will say, "Enjoy flying on board our new 737" or "Enjoy flying on board our newest aircraft."

Why lie?

There are no criminal charges.
