OK, back to your originally scheduled program.

If you can see a aircraft flying at Fl 350 contrails during the day time why could this guy not see a aircraft on fire at night.

I have also read that an anther airline in the area was asked by ATC to try and contact Flt 370...that airliner told ATC they only hear a "buzzing noise"....could this be part of an electrical problem on Flt 370?
Eyewitness accounts are the least reliable of all in aviation and trial law.

Many things are possible, but it requires a human interface to connect the FMS to the aircraft navigation. If the human doesn't like the output, he doesn't connect the two systems.

Very unlikely in a reality based scenario.

Thanks again for letting this non-pro participate in the discussion. I've been very curious what commercial pilots think about this whole thing. Many of us "public folk" have just enough knowledge to be dangerous in terms of concocting unlikely to ridiculous scenarios.

Just hope the mystery will be solved and all this speculation will finally give way to remembering and honoring the 239 SOB.
"remembering and honoring" and then referring to them as SOB's?

Obviously you don't know what SOB or POB means.

In most English speaking countries SOB = Souls on Board
In others and in Islamic countries POB is used and it is Persons on Board.

If you don't know those two, you probably should not be commenting in this thread.

I assume he is meaning Souls on Board. A common term in offshore oil platform aviation, not sure about the airline world.

Very familiar with the terms... Thought it would take a lot more than that to get you to bite...

Yeah. One of the five airports found on the simulator seized by the police is that same military base, Diego Garcia.

It's probably at ETOPS divert field for Maylasia-Africa operations.
