Quote: Is it difficult to drop trips from a line or reserve to regularly get 14d off in a row? If impossible, would 10 be plausible?

How much does seniority influence the ability to drop trips?

Is there a minimum required to fly on a monthly basis to maintain insurance coverage?

Basically I’m trying to ascertain whether it’s possible to be part time and improve QOL.

Thank you for replies.
”Hey, I haven’t even started yet but I’m trying to ascertain how to work as little as possible at my dream job.” What the eff?

Ok so I am not the only one!!!! Kinda arrogant and straight up crappy. Just like the guy on another thread asking about if he can get a class, let alone an interview without a degree.

legitimate question. This is what forums are for. Asking the question you would not ask in the interview.

Hilltopper, I see your point, but I've got to lean toward worstpilotever's response.

If someone on the outside looking in had asked the max number of hours they could work in a month, it would likely meet with the same negative response from someone. And the answer to that question is that one can fly up to 95 hours on a rolling 28 day calendar and then a buffer kicks in to guard against you exceeding 100 flying hours. ... credit hours are many times different than flying hours due to min daily guarantee, deadheading, etc (which obviously do not count as flying hours).

Asking those questions does not necessarily mean that the person will take that course of action.

Not at all! I’d rather see junior pilots go to the WB fleets than senior to me pilots!

everyone has different things they are looking for. Some people it’s money, for this guy it’s time at home. Nothing wrong with asking the questions that will make you happy.

As long as a pilot complies with the contract to the letter and isn’t getting any CM special carve outs what’s the problem?

I don’t care how much a guy works or doesn’t work as long as they are adhering to the contract.

I’m merely pointing out the glaring hypocrisy of a group of people touting how important a college degree is to the “quality” of our pilot group……yet they can’t communicate using proper English we all should know from high school. Exceptionalism coupled with ignorance isn’t a good look.
