Anyone interviewed on 4/2 that got a call yet?

Currently, Atlas is doing all China flights as turns. They are trying not to stay overnight in China for any crews. I understand this is not possible for UPS/FedEx crews.

I live near ONT and am wondering if that makes a difference in quality of life? I'm at envoy right now and commuting but given the current events looks like I'll be at commuting with envoy for a while. I want to be done with commuting and am considering Atlas. Are the 767 schedules out of ONT more domestic? Are there any chances to spending more nights home during the 17 days of flying?

Living in base always helps. ONT is mostly domestic. Largely Amazon. The occasional international trip will come up. I’ve personally never been based there, but from what I’ve noticed it does seem like you end up back in ONT pretty often.

A few things to consider. First, we do have a gateway program. Commuting is about as pain free as it gets. I used to commute at the regionals myself. Atlas feels 0% like that. Hopefully we keep gateway in our next CBA, or maybe even get home basing [emoji1692]. Second, ONT is a small base. It seems to be getting slightly smaller in lines, and our last round of 76 upgrades all got CVG. So I would be a little hesitant to put all my eggs in the ONT basket. Third, there is no guarantee you will get placed on the fleet of your choice. You could find yourself driving the whale out of ANC, but then again, there is gateway.

Not trying to open a can of worms but also trying to do my homework, what is the next step in the negotiations for a new CBA?

My understanding is a court ruled again that a joint seniority list has to be produced in the next several weeks and that will then start a 9 month arbitration and then boom, a new CBA? Or will the union appeal this and the cycle will continue?

My understanding is that the last time that we went through this "9 month process" that it actually took a couple of years. It's anyone's guess how long it will take for a new CBA. However, in light of the current state of the industry, I wouldn't expect many positive changes in the next CBA. The company doesn't need to increase pay / QOL when there are 1,000 regional pilots on the street this month, no one else is hiring, and the rumors of furloughs at every other airline are rampant.

No problem. For anyone thinking about coming to Atlas/Southern, my two cents would be this: take a sober look at our current CBA. Expect that it will not get better and may actually get worse. In any case, it’s better than being unemployed. But I would not come here if you’re making your decision based on what you hope this place will look like with a new CBA. Plan for this pay rate. Plan for minimum guarantee. Expect that to be the case for the next 10 years or until they lock the doors. Then, if things actually get better, you’ll be pleasantly surprised as opposed to not paying the bills when you’re not making the money that a recruiter tells you that you’ll make.
