MESA PILOTS SAY NO CONCESSIONS

76 HOURS OR NO FLYING

just look back at a time where the company held you to the Pilot Working Agreement (PWA).

Getting called on your last day of reserve when they have other people to cover?

Sitting ready reserve for days on end?

Booking deadheads to one way legs back to Base to save buying you a hotel room.

The company holds you accountable for following the PWA, and now it’s your time to hold them accountable. They agreed to pay you, then make them follow the agreement. They will hold you accountable if you don’t, so why allow them to not follow it?
Just ****ing leave already. Geez.

Quote: The case for shutting down American Airlines: https://youtu.be/5VlRJ15o_yM
The video lost me in minute 2 when he said he was against taxpayer money propping up failed businesses. The government absolutely has a responsibility to help an industry they wilfully destroyed. This wasn't due to mismanagement, the current crisis is the government overreacting and shutting down our revenue stream. That's how businesses go from record performance to edge of bankruptcy in mere months.

Quote: Actually the crews to pick up the 175s have already been picked and we are taking deliver of 5 per month starting in a few weeks. The issue was that Johnny-O couldnt get the same rates from the bank as he would of per covid. He was delaying the delivery until the rates dropped or UA co-signed the loan. Embraer is refusing to delay any further so JO will be getting the financing (dont know the details). But, I have spoken to a few of the CAs that will be going and they are being told to be ready. Everyday that passes I am more and more certain the furloughs are a farce. We have yet to even see any displacement bids. Also how can we keep the whole maintenance and FA groups if we loss 30% of the pilots. How about JO take a pay cut and take one for the team if things are so bad. A 30% pay cut for him would save at least 200 of those jobs.
You were doing so well until the end part. Even at $35k per year 200 jobs is $7mil. JO doesn't make near that. I think it is somewhere south of $1.3mil.

I have the same right to be here as you HulkaBurger. Play nice now. You want concessions because you are a beta male and I want to stand up to JO to help you keep your pay. That makes me the Alpha Male.

Not likely. United just announced no need to furlough with pilot concessions. As more do this - and plenty have - the perceived need is diminishing.

Even with "strong union representation" pilots have a way of kicking themselves in the balls. Happens every ten or so years and we never learn from our mistakes.

Quote: This is a really good point. They are squeezing the people who are keeping this boat afloat. No pun intended. This type of behavior comes from poor leadership. JO = poor leadership. He has money, why don’t we fo ask him for a bonus right now while we risk our lives flying during COVID.

When is the union going to speak up and get our proper notice for monthly bids. If they know what the flying is going to be like next month, then why are we waiting until the last minute to bid and know our schedules? That sounds like a concession all in its self. Have we got anything in return for that?
Make no mistake. The hornets nest has been kicked. There will be stings. Sure we can force the schedule issue. But it will result in reserve lines for all as the company asserts 76 hour min for a line and the pairings don’t support it. We have to pick our battles.

If you want to check out ethical business practices, look up a video of Ben and Jerry’s Ice Cream Company. JO could learn a thing or two. No company’s CEO should be making this kind of money when he is asking his employees to reduce their pay. If his salary is 1.3 mil, that’s 50x 1st year FO’s pay.

I didn’t kick it, I urinated on it

Mesa Pilots Stand United against pay cuts. no Concessions. I won’t be bullied for standing up for pilots making $32,000 a year.

This is a free country and a CEO can make whatever their BOD thinks is fair and correct. You have options if you don't like his pay. Buy a controlling stake in the company and put in your own board. Go to the BOD and make them aware that you would like to compete for the CEO position and make them an offer. Resign.
