Swarley, it took you that long after the Great Recession to make it to Mesa? How many checkrides did you fail? Wait don’t answer that, you are going to say 0, right?

Seems like every time I ask that question the person says 0. They lie to themselves and us on APC. 😅

PRIA doesn’t lie 🤣😂🤣😂

🙃 sucks. Which one? I only ask because maybe you could post on here what you learned from the failure. If I was going to say the hardest I see people having problems with it’s the initial ATP. Stepping from a 172 to a CRJ or EJet is a massive leap and flying 2 pilot aircraft.

CMEL, got cocky, messed something up on something. What I learned, complacency kills. Everyone does dumb things.

Btw I didn’t just get to Mesa. But, back in 07 ish, jobs were very scarce, I’m surprised it took airlines as long as it did to furlough. I ended up working in the restaurant industry, because psych majors weren’t much sought out for. Soon after I went the military route, mostly because you almost had to be a military pilot to get an airline job. The recent hiring boom was very abnormal, that’s why I jumped on it. The economy was so bad, it took what like 4 years to start seeing reductions in unemployment. And how many countless pilots never returned to the industry after being furloughed? I don’t think this “recession” compares to it, because fundamentally our economy is strong. I believe it will pass. Trust me, you don’t wanna go on unemployment. It’s not fun.

I came outta college during the Great Recession, and trust me, any job like this one at a slightly lessor pay is astronomically better than unemployment or competing with turds to be a Walmart greeter. That dude has to be new to the workforce.
It ain't 490 furloughs. That's 33% of the pilot group.

There are about 250ish people on reserve right now. You furlough 490 who's going to fly the planes?

This 8 hours reduction ain't 33% savings. The math doesn't add up.

Management scare tactics for pilot concessions.

I'm not working for charity. Explain to me why I should subsidize junior guys? I don't have bills to pay? I already lost 20 hours of pay. Enough is enough!

Welcome to the seniority based airline system.

pangolin, propellere, you guys are hilarious. We would get along with all the back & forth. I think we should all be banned from posting, so y’all both can run the entire Mesa Forum. There’s nothing but you two arguing between you two in every thread. Who knows more? Pangolin, or Propellere? We will never know. 😂🤣

How many would be on reserve if we weren’t getting reduced lines?

also, you don’t think the company would be willing the eat some money in hopes of a turnaround having kept staffing levels?
