Oh I don’t expect a profit. But not because of malicious action by a the co. Deferred debt is due now.

No PSP paying the entire payroll. However Mesa does want to profit. That’s the name of the game. If we contribute to it we get a piece of the pie.

When has the company came and offered thanks for us flying during COVID? Any extra health benefits or extra pay as front line workers as we exposed ourselves to a deadly virus for company profits?

The biggest thing that the union needs to do is properly evaluate their worth as pilots. You are flying 80,000lbs of flying metal across the earth at 82-83%(76%for the slower ejet ☺️) the speed of sound with 65-79 passengers aboard. Many of you here hold graduate and undergrad degrees in engineering with ATP’s. Have some dignity for yourselves. You deserve more than what is being offered.
Unions are full of crooks, I can’t even pretend to be one. It sounds more like you have a problem with the company. And your position won’t actually hurt the company, it’ll just hurt other pilots. And you wanna be thanked for flying right now? Dude grow a pair. Has it really been that tough on you? You sit behind a freaking closed door.

Also, we get it, for the love of God we get it, Mesa’s pay sucks. Why the heck did you come here then? You see and complain about the crap contract we have and then support the old crusty captains who agreed to it in the first place? Is this your first job or something?

It’s honestly hit or miss. It can go both ways. If you read the contract it’s divided into buckets, so you have 1,2,3,4,5 and 6 day buckets. Seniority inside the buckets. Normally pre Covid there would be open flying and when no one picked up open flying it would go to the reservists. Being that there is no open time right now, they can’t build lines. If someone calls in sick, and flying opens up, it’s usually inside of 12 hours, so a short call person gets it. Weather causes crew timeouts or delays, the reservists get used. Another example of short calls getting flying before long call. Ideally long call should get it first, but with the lack of flying recently it’s been better to pick short call if you want to fly more. Also crew scheduling has been upgrading 4,5, and 6 day buckets on long call to short call because it’s a free short call and they use them as backups knowing they will unlikely get called. Skirting the contract we have also seen crew scheduling upgrade a long call to short call then right to airport ready. Something that shouldn’t happen but the Union bends over and let’s it happen. Airport ready should be assigned to the most junior pilots, not to the guys who hold seniority to have long call. It’s all a game and the company routinely uses pilots outside of the scope of the contract. Another reason not to budge.

He wants to get furloughed to get out of the bonus contract and move on. But he can’t because if this passes he won’t get furloughed. In addition he can’t vote so he’s lobbying for your votes since he can’t vote himself.

calm down sparky. I’m just saying I want to be paid what I signed on for or more, not less. Would you work here for free? Are you a hobby pilot? You know, they guy with a pension or a doctor wife.

Furloughs will hurt the senior people too. Who do you think is going to sit airport ready when I leave? Not me. 😜 I’ll be delivering FedEx packages. When I get the call back, my pay will be there waiting for me, not 68 credits. Take a lesson from the old guys, they understand the game.

Its not seniority in the buckets. Call me first call me last enters into it.

Thats all cool and the gang, at least be he can be an adult and admit hes a piece of trash. If this MOU was a huge pay decrease like everyone expected, fine I’ll take the hit and furlough me. But we’re talking about 8 hours, to save 400+ jobs and 190 downgrades. I came outta college during the Great Recession, and trust me, any job like this one at a slightly lessor pay is astronomically better than unemployment or competing with turds to be a Walmart greeter. That dude has to be new to the workforce.

Pangolin, yes you are correct. Finally someone understands my perspective. Yes, I am lobbying. 😉😉 and it’s working. Every month you are on furlough, every month you don’t have to pay the bonus back. Fact.

Leverage that fact so you don’t have to lose your 8 hours guys. Think smart. Company doesn’t want to furlough, so why let them scare you into a lower hourly guarantee. JO is a stock guy. Imagine Mesa stock after furloughs are announced. 🧐 thinking caps are on
