JO made the statement that he’d like to be the only regional that doesn’t furlough. Uhh Does he think we are all lemmings? Skywest has no plans for furloughs.
They are paid considerably more than us. So how can they afford to pay their pilots? Come on guys. We took a pay cut coming to work for Mesa. All JO is looking to do is show the shareholder that he can squeeze the pilot group for enough money so he can get a bonus for increasing the stock price.
it is better to be furloughed than to take a pay cut. If they reduce our pay, then we can’t just quit and draw unemployment. We wouldn’t qualify if you volunteered to leave.
So guys having a company attempt to keep you on staff at below unemployment rates is insulting and detrimental to doing the right thing for families.

Clam down, I'm merely stating that Skywest has a secondary, steady, income stream that we don't have. Talk about hostile.

In the interest of fairness, while I personally think the company has the funds to float the pilot group a little longer, we are apparently having problems finding affordable financing for the new 175’s.

Didn’t the call say they don’t have financing for the ejets? American is flying 45% of its schedule for October last I read..and United 40%. Even if he could float something..no company can float that. There will be concessions whether we volunteer for them or not. The downgrades will be affected the most. That many furloughs will touch almost everyone except those at the very top of the seniority list..it will disrupt the whole operation with base and equipment transfers etc..which people will incur extra costs to commute and on and on. Those dead set against concessions be careful what you wish for.

assuming an average of $250 for a crash pad the take home pay is about $1700 sitting reserve for a 60 hour min guarantee. You need to find a job paying $14 an hour working 40 hours a week to beat that. It’s not going to be that hard to do. . .
anyone wanting to give concessions is either dumb, ignorant. It’s mind blowing.

Actually the crews to pick up the 175s have already been picked and we are taking deliver of 5 per month starting in a few weeks. The issue was that Johnny-O couldnt get the same rates from the bank as he would of per covid. He was delaying the delivery until the rates dropped or UA co-signed the loan. Embraer is refusing to delay any further so JO will be getting the financing (dont know the details). But, I have spoken to a few of the CAs that will be going and they are being told to be ready. Everyday that passes I am more and more certain the furloughs are a farce. We have yet to even see any displacement bids. Also how can we keep the whole maintenance and FA groups if we loss 30% of the pilots. How about JO take a pay cut and take one for the team if things are so bad. A 30% pay cut for him would save at least 200 of those jobs.
