You talking about Max R.? I'm not there anymore. I think we are both furloughed NJ, correct? I'm doing the commute to Japan once a month so that is why I still fly out of there. I hate waiting for my flight in t-2 though. Can't wait to wait in T-3.

Quote: Anyone remember that little crappy burger and fry joint in terminal 1, just down from the double wide turnstile entrance?(2002) Burgers were crap, fries were tasty, and the best part was it was like a $4 meal with a drink....
That's going back in time a bit. I ate there a couple of times. Loved the staff...iirc they were mostly all young girls from Eastern Europe who were so happy to be in the U.S. for a while.

The location was terrible though, and the place only stayed open for a few months. I think the only people who knew about it were Comair employees.

Jrmyl sorry to read about your furlough. I hope things work out for you in the long run. Good to read you've found something else for now.

Wasn't that place originally a McDonalds?

Yes it was. And they did have their fare share of Eastern European girls working there.

Ok, since lately we're posting just for the hell of posting, here's one that happened to me not long ago.
i'm sitting in the business room at the hotel in CVG, in comes a guy to use other computer. He had a couple of things on him that got my curiosity going ,so I asked started talking and here's what I found out. He's here for indoc with the former Delta Elite. They changed their name to Delta Jet something or other. They are under the Comair umbrella (??), questioned about this, he says they're owned by Comair (??, his words, not mine). He's going to the Citation XLS, no 121 experience, etc, etc. Needless to say I was surprised since my believe was it took an act of congress to get hired at the former Delta Elite if you were'nt retired/previous Delta, and specially an under 30 guy with no 121 experience at all.
Too many questions about this.
Anyhow, does anyone know anything about this?. I'd be thankful if you expand on the details.
Just curious......y'all have a good one.

I hope you are sitting down for this...It is my understanding that although they are under the Comair umbrella (FWIW) they still get S3 status as nonrevs - the same as mainline employees.

Delta Private Jets is a wholly owned subsidiary of Delta. IDK if they're under the Comair umbrella or not. I've heard they aren't great to work for, but I don't have any experience with them. I'll see what I can find out.

Delta Private Jets/Delta Air Elite was the former charter/fbo of Comair (Comair Jet Express I think) prior to being purchased. They were hq'd in the Comair GO, at least up until the move, not sure where they went when the move happened. They shared a lot of company functions but were separate certs. In the end it doesn't matter as Comair really owns nothing, Delta owns both.

A couple retired Comair guys ended up there, but you had to know the right people it sounded like.

It also sounds like most the time the pilots come with the planes from owners looking to charter out their jet.

I thought I read someplace Dalpa had a grievance against dal using non seniority list pilots or something for the planes.

There was/is little info available it seems like

I know a few folks over there and as of right now they are only hiring people that are already typed in their aircraft. They are no longer in the business of buying type ratings. Probably part of the Seagrave business plan of hiring already typed guys and letting them go before their recurrent rides.

They operate several business jets which exceed the maximum weight allowed by our scope. Our MEC approached management and asked them to remove those aircraft from service, and they denied the request. A formal grievance has been filed.
