Bumping my question.

It depends on many things. If you finished first in a class of a dozen, they might TDY you somewhere until they got around to doing a vacancy bid. But usually you have a couple of weeks at least from the final bid award to the end of your moving days. Looking at the last award, the final was published on 11/19 and the earliest anyone (besides trainees) had to report for work at their new base was 11/28. There's no way for me to know when the C.O.T. (completion of training) transition dates were though, a new hire would have to chime in for that one. Also, we have minimum days off when transitioning between bases for moving purposes (trainees are technically based in HYA):
-Less than 100 miles: 1 day off
-100-500 miles: 3 days off
-501-2500 miles: 7 days off
-Greater than 2500 miles: 14 days off

Also, if you are already hired here, we have transition guides and a Facebook group that can help with finding places to live. Just make sure to join the group and look for help there.

Did they fully staff Billings?

Just curious, what is being an FO like at cape? Would I upgrade at or just after Captain Minimums? I have 1100 hours, 550 xc (50nm), 97 night, 900PIC, 37 Multi, 105 actual instrument, 50 simulated instrument. CFII/MEI
I am looking at cape air since I need to log more multi time (currently flying singles) and then maybe after a year move to a regional like Compass or SKywest. But I dont want to be an FO for more than legally required, or should I just apply once I meet Captain mins? Also, how long are new hires based in Hyannis/Boston area? Im not a big fan of small towns but willing to take my chances not getting based in Boston or similar.

Is cape air having staffing problems? I've noticed a crazy amount of cancelled flights this month.

It could have something to do with this awful weather this winter.

I left Cape Air 15 month ago so my info may be out of date but almost all FOs upgrade immediately after reaching Captain mins. You will be based in a small town. BOS is like 10 years seniority to hold it. I would plan on going to the Caribbean, Montana, or the Midwest, and don't plan on commuting.

Great place to work though, have fun while you're there. You will miss it when you leave.
