Good luck to all concerned!
Hired 14 years and 35 pounds ago.

The background to this issue, which I am suprised that you have not heard of, is that one of the managers was deducting points for guys wearing a tie when the instructions were business casual. The word is that he got slapped down pretty firmly by senior management over this, but the concern of applicants is understandable.

From my interview group 12 interviewed 5 got hired. Of the 5 that got hired none of us wore ties. Some of the one's that didn't get hired were wearing tie's and one was a little too casual (trust me when I say toooo casual). I felt weird not wearing a suit but hey business casual means to me no tie. With that said what you wear is a small part of what they look at and this is not a f'in GQ convention. We have a bunch of gubers here and they got hired. Just be positive in your attitude, wear a smile, and try not to be joker or center of attention during the interview. Take it for what it's worth.

Well, new hires and new hire wannnabees . . . . Now you have the rest of the story. See this attitude? Thirteen years ago there was no online test, Atlas wasn't a place to hang out, and work rules and pay were not as good, albeit, could be better now. In other words, no secret handshake from the 89th to get what is considered a quality job now. Yep, apples in every company.

Personally, a guy with recent new hire experience is better intel for getting here. Now that there's no spat amongst Polar v.s. Atlas or vice versa, it seems people need to pick on the "new kid."

Rant over . . .get the thread back on track . . . is it really that big of a deal if they want to discuss how to get here? I don't think so and I"ll bet 99.9% of the readers here don't think so, either. Lighten up, Francis!

A few years ago I jump seated from NRT-ORD and handed the crew some treats. The Captain (Captain Green...spell check) and crew were top-notch. However, I learned quickly that cooking skills were a must. The Captain welcomed me and asked his #1 to check my credentials and give me the safety briefing. He then turned and asked how I liked my burger (he was cooking for the crew). This crew was awesome, and it remains one of my favorite jumpseating flights.

I saw a lot of relaxed professionalism on this flight----folks making things happen. No tension. Great chaps....and I sense this is the magic .

So, I am fully qualified to operate the oven/coffee pot on the aircraft. In addition, that grill in the MIA arena will be taken care of with love should I be brought to the school. Selfishly, I am a bit of a devil-----my diet plan includes feeding you more calories than I take in. I cook very well for others-----references available.

Looking forward to making the cut-----and getting my new friends properly fed & hydrated. I'm here for you.

There'll be a step for the date of signing anniversary the next few Octobers. Dollar or two an hour.

Any word on the calls? Are they truly slated for the 27th to the 29th? I'm getting anxious reviewing this thread and the proper study materials for the online test cover and over again. By the way, is there any other tid bits of info on the online test? Pprune has part of the gouge, can we assume that the remainder 60 questions are along the same lines? Has anyone taken the test recently?

Man, I know of a few 744 qualified and current World furloughs that would love to be employed again and readily available for the next class.
