Anyhoo...
Nope - I didn't miss it at all.

So if I were to copy at least two posts that contradicted your post and FAAFlyers' would that make it even again?

It might not even be the message Spicoli - it might be the delivery.

To those considering employment at XOJet, you can expect this:

-to be head out early day 1, to get home late on day 8 or 15, and to fly every day. You can also plan to turn your phone off during your days off.
-you can expect to stay at Hilton and Marriott properties almost exclusively, with the occasional exception.
-you will be issued a company credit card that crew travel uses to reserve hotels. Whether you leave the charges on this card or use your own, rewards earning CC, is entirely up to you.
-you will be reimbursed for your expenses in a very timely manner. I've never waited more than a week to see the money deposited.
-you will also be issued a company iPhone and iPad.
-you can expect just about every one you fly with to have applications out. This is no longer a career job that it once was. Don't come here expecting it to be different.
-expect to eat well, on the company's dime.
-expect a job that is far from perfect, but could be so much worse.

If you come here knowing our history, and what to expect, you'll probably find yourself content until your dream job calls.

Well sir I'd appreciate it if you would consider your delivery as well. I'm not saying "I'm the only one who tells the truth." As you mention. I'm simply saying: "this is what happened to me. It wasn't worth being there. It could happen to you. Buyer beware." Within a short time someone backed up my opinion and it is an opinion. I'm not denying that. However this is certainly not a case of I had problems with XO and "others did not" as you say. I've noticed the XO employee's posts see to revolve around me personally. I mentioned that the merit system and a small but influential part of the pilot group was 1 out of about 5 major issues.

But hey, if you like you can just take the time to read all the reviews on glass door. It would be maybe an appropriate action before mentioning that I'm likely sitting in my mom's basement preparing for black helicopters. Which I find pretty funny BTW

You may want to consider not saying stuff like that to guys taking the time to express their opinion to try and help others. As another poster mentioned there is a lot of noise and few who would take the time to write a detailed account of what happened to them. I never said this happened to everyone. I'm not taking it personally I'm just pointing out that instead of addressing real issues like disregarding company policy such as the "red zone" XO employees say "its not so bad. I never flew with Jeff but we are ALL happy you left." The only thing I missed in my first post on this threat that personal attacks would follow. I thought I had put that in there. Can't cover it all I guess.

I did go down the road with the lawyers but it wasn't worth it based on the advice of legal council and another former pilot employee who has also faced the team of lawyers that serve a major VC firm. So I'm certainly not the "they are coming to get me type there." Yeah and little broke FO couldn't afford to stand up for himself in our "free" society. But that is the topic of another thread.

One nice thing about XOJET you can live at home and there is a schedule. You can turn the phone off at home. That I would consider a luxury. It wasn't my only 135 job and I have heard of worse. While I don't take anything personally that you say, making comparisons with situations that I am unfamiliar with and straw man claims such as comparisons to troubled employees that you have had a problem with certainly cloud the issue.

I hope I cleared up your question, however.

Discrepancy:
This thread is inop. It's making sounds similar to a head hitting a brick wall

Corrective Action:
This thread is not deferrable. It must be replaced with an operable Spicoli.
Part presumably out of stock.
Future operation highly discouraged. Uncontained failure will result.

Indeed, buyer beware.

THAT......is a dead-on balls accurate description of working here, without any BS attached.

Sometimes i think these forums need a "like" button.

Spicoli, if you didn't want to sound completely jaded you probably could have acknowledged the good parts about working here early on in your rant rather than coming out with the positive parts when you were challenged after-the-fact.

Smoothat450 nailed what it's like to work here in 1 post.

Are people not entitled to their opinions and personal experiences on this board? He claimed he left 18 months ago and those were his experiences. Things at XO have hopefully changed in those 18 months. How about you allow people to give their perspective instead of immediately vilifying him and trying to discredit him? Why not just provide an update for each of his concerns - what has changed and what has improved point for point?

These "personal" opinions and perspectives are what is truly valuable about APC. They help us make career decisions. If you feel Spicoli was innaccurate about his 18-month old account, offer your opinion and counter facts but don't vilify him for his personal account. APC is becoming more and more like FI every day with the personal attacks.

I don't believe it's that he's not entitled to his opinions... It's how he went about it in his posts. Yes there were/are problems with some A captains who don't put forth the required effort to help with regards to progression. But that alone won't stop you from progressing and it shouldn't be used as an example to smear a certain group of pilots. I should know, I was hired after him but I was still able to progress through the ranks and upgrade while having to fly with some of those said A captains. That said, the "merit" based upgrade at XOJET is a flawed process IMO.

His situation and circumstances are not the norm and shouldn't be painted as such. Things have changed quite a bit in 18 months, some for the better and some not so much. But as alluded to earlier, smooth at 450 nailed it as to what it's like to work here.

I think the bigger issue is there's more to the big picture here with regards to Spicoli's situation, his attitude and how people didn't like how things were being portrayed in his posts. Now that said, I don't know Spicoli personally, never flew with him and maybe met him once or twice on the road so I won't judge nor comment specifically to what happened with him. All I can say is that his experience at XOJET was not the norm though it's not all sunshine and roses either.

BTW this is coming from someone who's also looking to move on as well. It's not all roses here but it's a hell of a lot better than the regional's and most other 91/135 gigs!

We'd be happy to provide updates on the changes if his circumstances were part of larger systemic issues. What we are saying is that when ones experiences are so far from what everyone else has gone though (ok what 99% have gone though) you have to start to ask yourself if any of it was self-induced.

If his complaints were about a bogus domicile policy, we'd be right there with him. If his complaints were about a ridiculous overtime policy that has seen only marginal improvement we'd be on the same page. If his issues were with a previous management regime that have since left, we'd also be right there with him. But they aren't.
