Quote: Are they going to grow DTW any more first for the 717?
They are getting 3 airframes a month. There will be plenty of block hours to grow 3 bases. They are also looking for additional airframes beyond the planned 88.

Who else out there had any more besides Hawaiian? The more, the better!

In July 2013, 148 Boeing 717-200s were in airline service with Southwest Airlines (88), Hawaiian Airlines (18), Volotea (14), QantasLink (13), Blue1 (9), and Turkmenistan Airlines (6).

guys, any idea what documents are being sent to prior employers to fill out?

i had one non-flying employer that I didn't see eye to eye with on how they handled some things and I ended up leaving. (over 5 years ago, not spoken since). I put them down on airlineapps in the work history as required.

not sure if they are malicious enough to say something negative just because they have an opportunity....

Hey guys, I'm curious about what you might suggest for a strategy to get out towards SEA? Expecting to hole up in NYC/ATL etc. for as long as I need to.

Chance they might put some of those 79's in SEA to meet the expansion up there?

Thanks

Doubtful but stranger things have happened. The 737's are a common category -700's, 800's, and 900's. All operate out of the 737 Domiciles which are currently:

NYC
ATL
CVG
DTW
SLC
LAX

With that said there is always the low level rumor of a future west coast NB domicile. SEA and LAX are both currently gate limited for DAL so who knows? And also if there is a NB base out here it might also be the 717.

Best strategy at the current time is get on the 757/767 and hope the movement kicks in as expected. Could be less than a year if you are lucky but will probably be closer to two. It has taken some guys 5-6 years to get to the west coast but that was when we would go years without hiring. If the movement is as quick as some say I would say around a year to SEA on the 757/767.

What would be the fastest way back to SLC or LAX? 737, 75/76, or 320? (yes, I know there are no 320s in LA)

Anyone have a guess as to how long it will take to hold MSP88, or MSP anything for that matter?

Without a reestablished A330 category, or a new 737 category, I'd expect 1-2 years for someone hired now.

When the backlog of pilots trying to get back in clears in a couple years, I'd guess a new hire could hold it in a few months.

They have stated MSP might be the next 737 base. New hires will hold it if that happens. I believe that all bases except perhaps SEA will be available within 18 months.
