Quote: I agree, opening RDU isn’t a good plan. They should staff the Gojets flying from ATL and grow DTW. Even CVG would be better than RDU
There are actually a number of us that live in RDU, including our mec chair. But more to the point, if we were to take their flying a good number of their RDU based pilots would likely come here and staff it just fine. Would likely not impact hiring and placement anywhere else. And there are several places that would be very easy commutes to RDU. Ton of Florida flying out of RDU too for you Florida commuters.

Quote: Heard in CQ this week: "big announcement before end of the month; likely more planes, but possibly new base (bets on RDU)"
Who stated that? All the other rumors so far indicated an announcement a little further down the road

A friend told me he heard in a meeting in MSP today: SJS will be coming to this company next year. Seems the initials were RE or something like that?

Quote: Does anyone here use LogTen Pro? I heard you could possibly copy and paste flights into the logbook from CrewTrac? Could anyone assist with that?

If anyone else knows any other way to import flights easier than doing them manually, I would appreciate it! Thanks.
Use the FFDO.export option in FLICA; copy your schedule & paste he txt into LTP Import schedule window.

Quote: If RDU is true, here’s what’s gonna happen. It’ll go very junior, probably where new hires go. So now we’re the airline that sends new hires to a very uncommutable airport. I’d rather commute to NYC than RDU. I’ve got more options with NYC, as most probably do.

This will kill recruiting.
Outstation basing hasn't hurt PSA, PDT, or RAH. I doubt it would be large, and for some stations RDU is an easier commute than NYC (weather) or ATL (loads). It's not our job as pilots to care about recruiting. Any dips in hiring means more offered to us.

I've come across more pilots working for us that live around RDU than any other outstation, except for MEM.

Right! Also, I've talked to people who just want southern bases and will move. I know a bunch of guys that moved to CLT because it was a southern City they could hold at PSA. I suspect people would move to Raleigh for this base, much much lower COL and it's super easy to non-rev out of.

Fwiw I really think it was G7. If you look closely it appears the main gear doors have been removed. Like half of their 900 fleet operates without them for some reason.

I was told it's cheaper to remove them and take the CDL penalty than maintain them.
