The MEC told us to vote this in and that's what we did.
Agreed on all counts. Nothing bad came from this vote. It was not capitulation on anything.

I also expect a ratification of the TA when it comes, but not for the doom and gloom reasons stated above. Our NC and MEC will not bring anything to us unless it's a good and fair deal. My MEC speaks for me, and will continue to do so..

I can understand a "no vote" before a "didn't vote"
Are you surprised? We can't even get everyone to wear a simple ALPA lanyard!

As far as the LOA and pay raise goes, it honestly doesn't matter if it passed or would have failed, the company will use it against us either way. ALPA keeps saying the pilot unity is getting better, but I honestly haven't seen a difference, and the LOA voter turnout is just another proof that we are not on the same level as other pilot t groups like Southwest or Delta. JetBlue is a weird bunch...

Good Luck to all, we are going to need it!

I would caution you slightly with applying this logic with too broad a brush. There's a reason other airlines vote down TA's all the time.

Many MECs go to their pilot groups try and sell the benefits of TAs that are then ultimately voted down.

I think JB pilots evaluated this LOA on its merits and understand that it will have ZERO effect on the ultimate TA/CBA we vote on/end up with.

Having said that, when they bring us a TA, I will scrub it line by line and make a decision to vote yes/no on its merit independently of what the MEC/LEC tell us.

Will I take their inputs/road shows into account when making my voting decision? Absolutely. But I won't vote yes just because they brought it to us and think we should vote it in.

B6 will use this raise to delay resolution when we go to mediation-and we ARE going to mediation. Forget about 2017 guys unless, of course, a new fleet type or merger is announced and B6 needs a quick deal. Enjoy the 500/month.

I don't care what the pilot group thinks they voted on but management will now operate with the mindset that we are okay with the current book and when they do the pilot group will be ****ed off at our guys instead of the company.

What ticks me off is some of the guys I flew with said they couldn't figure out how to vote or lost their logins. Ask them if they called a Rep or ALPA and nope. They just didn't care enough to take the time to vote.

Run into this all the time and it is very frustrating. Honestly I've all but pretty much given up trying to help the horse drink the water. almost every time it's "ALPAs" fault I don't get emails or mailings or.... insert information here. You have to be just slightly engaged to this stuff, but so many just wanna coast through it. The last two guys I flew with haven't ever even looked at their pay stubs!@! I $#!T you not. Even more shocked when I told them that in Aug. the company shorted me 20ish hours of JA pay... "I can't believe they'd do that" words from them both.

If you are going to be willfully ignorant... you get what is given.

Keep pushing the ball up hill... I know it's hard.

I flew with 2 guys that didn't vote because they knew it was going to pass "with flying colors" and their yes vote was pointless... That's not the point, nor a valid reason for not voting, IMHO

Pilot's that don't check their pay.

That's not how this works. If you think the arbitration officer(s) are going to look at this 8% and consider it an act of good faith and allow further delays, then you don't understand how the process works.

We are so far behind our peers in all areas, including pay even with this raise, it's ridiculous. And the mediation team is/will be well aware of this fact.

I'll enjoy my $1000+/month extra and look forward to a leading TA/CBA.
