So does the release reflect a 0.0 taxi fuel? Or is it the basic .4 given for a 1700 flight out of JFK and a 2300 flight out of BUR?

Interesting. I remember when fuel was way up this idea was floating around at different airlines also I think airbus had like an electric motor idea. I remember seeing a video of a plane taxing around with the engines off.

Strange. My friend who just attended ground school last week told me that one of the CP's said that Jetblue does not need to hire as many post-CBA as originally planned.

That’s not just BOS. Why do you think they sent out RSA’s starting early AM for both fleets in almost every base?

With that in effect now, if you don’t waive it, best case scenario you will start on Day 1 at 10AM, Day 2 no earlier than 7AM and so forth. The only way for them to have guys/gals starting on those 2-4AM RAP’s is on Day 3.

Supposedly During the FAR117 implementation briefing with the feds and airlines, Delta SPECIFICALLY asked about tugging the A/C out to the runway (evidently they were concerned about a couple of their longer routes) and if since it was not under its own power, did it start the duty clock. (A buddy who was there told me this story)

They said NICE TRY but YES....this was not the spirit nor the intention of the regs. We will not allow you to start tugging an aircraft out to the runway to circumvent FAR117.

If this is true, we need to put a stop to it immediately. Maybe an ASAP or Fatigue report.

The duty clock is already going. They are just doing it to save gas apparently.

Pre-contract I didn't do a damn thing outside of my originally scheduled trip. Did my job just as the union asked and that's all. Post contract I still won't ever touch an RSA but VDAs I'll do all day long.
