Quote: The total package, indeed during negotiations our union was ready to sign for spirit contract at our pay rates and the company backed down after bluffing. The fact they had the best CBA work rules in the industry it's undeniable. The fact they get paid more for the same pairings that we do neither. The fact they have pay protection for bid conflicts neither. Longer call out times.
There are legacy pilots leaving their current companies to go to other legacies, so the fact we interviewed few spirit pilots it's not relevant, as I am sure the opposite might have happen as well.
But we are not talking about spirit here. We are talking about our own ability to exercise leverage during negotiations.
The question is: do you still want to pick RSAs?
Blue you may need to edit this post.

That's what I heard and sticking to it. I might have been lied to.
But do you realize to what would that translate in terms of pay? QOL?
It would be a tremendous improvement.
May be I heard wrong, and it was a spirit contract with improved pay rates. But for sure their contracts is better than our PEA.
In any case, that' not the important topic. You know how they got such contract? With unity and being tough.
If here we keep picking up RSAs, or accepting extensions, we lose leverage. And I am sticking to that too.

Yes you heard wrong. Pay rates have not been discussed yet. We just entered the scheduling section of negotiations. We haven't touched compensation yet. I suggest you go to the b6 alpa site and read up on current negotiations before posting rumors. You're not helping anyone by trying to stir the pot

Doubling down on bad info may not be best. I suggest you contact your locals LEC rep. Or speak with a P2P ALPA volunteer. I'll do some digging and get back to your concern.

I am still in my first year at B6, and I have learned a lot from y'alls CBA discussions. While they can be heated, at least it's being discussed.
That said, I know we have all talked on here about what the CBA will do to RSV rules, and overall QOL. Once the CBA is implemented (2017?), do you see CA upgrades going to the 10 year point? I don't see them staying at the 4 year average. Thoughts?

I think they'll roughly stay put. At the end of the day we have a lot of commuters. They'll still most likely benefit from a nice raise and other QOL inprovements.

Even with improved reserve rules... You're still gonna be sitting around Kew Gardens for a few weeks a month waiting on the late night call to Port of Spain.

Even Delta has a very low upgrade time in NY.

I am well aware where we are in the negotiations. From what I heard, what I refer to happened at the very begging and started form an informal bluff from management. Again I might be wrong, I wasn't there.
But the bottom line is spirit got their industry leading contract few years back thorough unity and not giving up leverage during negotiations. Do you want to dispute that fact too?
Do you pick up RSAs Grim?

As usual, thank you CaptCool. But my only concern is that our pilot group effort will be diluted by too many greedy selfish nearsighted individuals, bad info or not.

Our negotiators are smarter than that. A spirt contract doesn't/won't fit our model. Neither does a SWA, FedEx, or UAL contract. Our negotiators are working on the best contract for JetBlue pilots for JetBlue flying. This also isn't our new mec's first rodeo. He lead the DHL pilots to an industry leading contract.

I am cautiously optimistic, but I believe whole heartedly, this will NOT be a copy paste, half @$$ed, push it through junk contract. We will see improvement across the board. How much improvement, is up in thto air and at this point only the company and our negotiators are privy to that info.

Stay calm and support your mec. Wear your lanyards and keep asking the tough questions.
