The latest vacancy saw a lot of movement of bases on the FO side. New hires that are still in training were awarded DFW and ORD (and guys that want LGA will obviously stay there). If you want to be in a specific base, the 145 is currently getting guys to any base before they finish training.

As for time on reserve, this is only an educated guess, but avoid ORD if you want off reserve. Someone on Eagle Lounge ran the numbers on the vacancy and said about 65 FO's are slated to leave ORD and were not replaced. Many of the Captain's flowing to AA out of ORD were not replaced, upgrades were almost all DFW and LGA. ORD is expected to shrink, which is not good for time to hold a line. Time to hold a line will be fastest in LGA, then DFW, followed by ORD.

Quote: I thought all those numbers just changed with the new vacancy bid? Not sure that's accurate now. I had a handful of people below me in ORD and couldn't hold DFW. Now I'm in DFW with about 20-30 people below me. I think the majority of the new DFW FO's came from LGA.
This is the breakdown at the time class started. The vacancy bid moved things around a lot. We've been told to expect vacancy bids every 3 months, so the class breakdown doesn't mean as much these days. Still, I thought some folks might like to have the info.

For ORD, this last vacancy saw about 65 FOs moving to other bases or up to the captain seats. That iss about the number of FOs on reserve, plus new hires coming up to Chicago. What this means to me is we could be losing even more flying in ORD, Chicago will now be the junior new hire base, or we will have zero reserves available everyday and everyone will hold a line (this would be a disaster, ORD cant run without 7 people on standby everyday). Also, I expect them to keep the FOs in Chicago that were awarded other bases until more new hires come in below them.

ORD 145 February bid packet is finally out. Down to 98 hard lines. January had 111 lines and December had around 125. The shrink is definitely on, just hard to say how much and how long.

Anyone else having problems with the CBT's accepting the 145 KV exam? I have taken it (and passed it twice now), but it shows a 0 in my transcript. I took screen shots of my passing score, but still don't get why it shows a 0.

Why are we losing flying in ORD? What's going on?

I think that's where the majority of the LGA aircraft came from. I guess that would explain the extra flying Skywest is getting there.

Are we losing 145s as well as CRJs?

I don't know the exact numbers, but a few pages back (or maybe in the other thread) someone had the numbers. When they opened the base in LGA they needed airplanes. Those airplanes came from the other bases.
