Well you better be late 40's early 50's if you want the 175.

I'm sure she could easily hold E145 in DFW as well. Pay is the same, so it really doesn't make a difference which jet one flies.

You specifically said that you'd be commuting from ORD or MKE. In that case, I'd be just as surprised to you inquiring about an equipment type that is clear across the country with a commute that is not easy. But anyway, to answer your question it's about a 2 month footprint including IOE. All of the ground portion will be in DFW and the sim is roughly 10 days and will probably be in STL. No guarantee that it will even be an option in class. If you'll only get satisfaction out of life by flying the 175 and you won't accept anything else, then go to Republic. If you're not above flying the 145 and curious about the training on it, the footprint is very similar. Decent chance at the sim portion being in DFW too. If not, the other location for the 145 sim is HOU and I've heard that they're starting some 145 sim events in STL as well. Not sure if new hires will be seeing STL on the 145.

It is not likely you would get the 175. If I were you, then I would get on now and get the 145 ORD and transfer down to DFW. By the time you get the transfer your husband will be already working. Also, commuting from Tyler to another regional isn't worth it unless you have some extenuating circumstances.

I live south of Madison so I needed ORD as commuting sucks. I've been with Envoy for about six months. I went to all the interviews at the places you named. You can and will get DFW on either the 145 or 175. Something to consider..... Envoy has opened two new bases in the last six months and there are rumors that more might be coming. The "problems" we are having are that we can't keep up with demand. I'm on reserve and I fly everyday. Everyday. No, I am not a recruiter. Yes, I do treat fellow employees (schedulers) with respect and have never had a problem. I like the culture here. Go on all of the interviews and pick the place that rubs you the right way. Don't worry about bonuses.

You wern't able to get ORD out of training? That sucks, Envoy was going to be one of the places I was going to apply but I heard they lost almost all their ORD routes.

Ord 145 and crj have been in most recent new hire classes. If not getting to Ord from LGA has been easy

The ORD 145 lines shrunk by over half, from about 130 lines a year ago to 47 lines in June. This is suppose to be a bottoming out and the 145 base is projected to grow slowly through the end of the year. However, that projection is based off of a letter sent from management a couple months ago, before MIA was announced, so nobody knows if that projection holds true for ORD 145.

Best bet if you want ORD is the CRJ, it'll be there slowly shrinking until you get the upgrade or get displaced and then you can pick which fleet you want to go to.
