1. If it's a bargaining tool to deny to put pressure on United, I get it.
2. If it's a concern over violating the manual, yeah, that too but it's IMHO noise level as I understand it because the FAA in the end doesn't care about the jumpseat use. There's probably tons of little broken rules every day.
3. I also get that United is aligning it's policy KIND OF with regard to Endeavor etc. since XJT etc. are partially owned or exclusive. I say kind of because we don't have a flow, are partially owned, etc.
4. I figure this will be over pretty quickly or forgotten.

Their new priority isn't even similar to Delta/Endeavor. They (Delta/Endeavor) get priority on each others planes, just like SkyWest and Expressjet used to. What United is doing is making it so that a Expressjet jumpseater has priority on a SkyWest aircraft over a Republic guy, even if the Republic guy checked in first.

I’m sure the lifelong union member and volunteer is very concerned with what Regional Jets R Us thinks. That was a very professional and well thought out letter, yet look at your response... not agree to disagree, not difference of opinion, but personal attacks. I hope you realize how comical this all is.

Except if it were me, I wouldn’t be laughing. I’d be calling my reps and putting up a fit that they aren’t only making fools of the whole company, they’re ruining my chances of getting hired. If you think the pilot interviewers don’t care, you’re insane. And if you think their opinion of you doesn’t matter to HR, you’re ignorant. Think they’ll tell HR that they don’t like you because of all this? I don’t. I think they’ll quietly throw your chances away and say that you seem like you’d be hard to work with.

I have called my SAPA representatives three times this weekend. Remember that this news came out on Friday so there has been practically little to no time for our pilot group to adequately respond to this. I know UAL / UAX guys are outraged about this but try not to so quickly judge every pilot here because there are a handful of us that are against this and many that plan to accept jumpseaters despite threats from SAPA.

I appreciate you voicing that opinion here, you’re right about not lumping everyone together.

Just like there is a letter of recommendation
There is a verbal of do not hire
Southwest post names of people getting interviews

Never use industrial reasoning for not hiring recommendation
“ it will be difficult to share a workplace and operate safe”

It happens
Don’t be that guy or girl

The Republic guy may not do United flying. The XJT guy does. The fact you can’t comprehend that little detail says a lot.

Nope, on non-exclusive carriers it's own metal pilots then UAL/UEX at toc. Stick with the facts please.

Good for you. He didn’t have priority either because it was an American flight and he shouldn’t. Too bad SAPA can’t understand this logic.
