Everybody see the most recent last minute plea email from MT?
Sounds like they are really concerned about the pay package not passing.

The smell of fear is strong....
A rejection of the pay package would be the proof that their "new emperor style" clothing isn't as cool as they think.
The very things he is touting as significant, are, if you are Skywest Airlines, not so much if you are, the help. I went back and re-read the plea, it's kinda desperate, actually quite sad. It would almost be significant if he had communicated with the pilot group, instead of assuming that we would be happy with crumbs. My sympathy drawer is quite empty, to quote some other guys, FUPM.

I have the luxury of not being afraid (or bitter), of my company ceasing to exist at least. That's because I have a fall back plan. And it's no accident that I do. I only wished that others did as well so that they can make decisions based on fact and principles (assuming they have any) instead of emotion.

Are you a Skywest pilot?

I'm just asking a question. I didn't intend for you to get defensive about it. I'm curious if you are a pilot at Skywest or any other regional for that matter? Or are you a dispatcher or something else for Skywest? I honestly don't think that the supposed Skywest dispatchers on this board are really dispatchers. So which is it? No judging, promise.

People don't understand they think there is growth to be gained by voting yes on this. It's not possible, scope limits what we will get, Every major wants rid of 50 seaters which we're loaded with, and our 175's are a replacement for 2 50 seaters which helps staffing. Don't be scared to say no to this package we're still going to be needed by Skywest and our mainline partners. Vote for what you think you're worth not some easily manipulated garbage profit sharing plan.

I don't think he's scared, just figured for the price of an e-mail and 3 minutes of his time on Sunday night he can probably swing another 30 votes his way. This one might be close.

I predict 83 percent voter turnout with a 70 no vote.

Hope it's not the typical 33 percent voter turnout!

You might be wrong, he hasn't written anything remotely close to this in the past. Anything that causes any unity, makes them scared, they rely on the divisive, "every man for himself" attitude in the pilot world. Nothing he listed as advancements were pluses for anyone but the company, the one, that might have implications were the pairing improvement pitch. The company needs efficiency far more than the pilots do. If we are at work more for less block, that sucks, that doesn't mean diddly squat to the company, right up until they need more block covered by fewer pilots. The reality has set in for them, they cannot keep up with attrition of pilots, even taking in to account retirement of airframes. They are sending guys to Paris for sim, the chokepoint is now sims and training lead time.

If I were running a big regional, I'd own a couple sims and keep them mothballed in a building near FS. That way I could instantly ramp up throughput and be at a huge competitive advantage every 5-7 years when these growth spurts happen. And I wouldn't rent them out to anyone else either.
