Yes, but back to that question, what is proper staffing levels? I would like to have a ratio of reserves to line holders, and that number would have to be the same as the minimum reserves that are in SkedPlus. Something like that in the pay package, and I would vote yes. But as CCB states, they are still trying to do it the way they always have, and are unwilling to change. Doesn't matter how many pilots we have, there will still be hidden open time, still be AS thinking that she needs to fly every reserve pilot 75.5 hours per month, still hours and hours of unnecessary RR, still pilots on TDY all over the place vs. letting commuters bid for TDY.
Lots of ways to improve QOL vs hiring more pilots. But that requires the company actually wanting to improve QOL. They think we are properly staffed. When SAPA brings up QOL, they think that they are being melodramatic. Someday someone will put the 2+2 together but until then it will be business as usual.

Staffing will get better once UA announces tomorrow the Airbus they are getting to replace 50 seaters. They will be online by next summer and lead to a pilot reduction at Skywest. At least, staffing will be sufficient. Just remains to be seen how many pilots get the door and how many get downgraded.

Sorry to be slightly OT but Wolf Blitzer thinks you all should ground your entire fleet because 5622? to BDL today depressurized in flight and diverted to BUF.

Won? When it comes to pay they always win.
1) No union so no leverage.
2) Even if you successfully applied leverage, it's still a regional and the flying would simply be re-allocated to other groups eager for a 14-month upgrade.
Look at the history of jet regionals making significant gains at contract time...they all end up getting the carpet yanked out within a few years.

They can save a lot of money and remain competitive if they merge everything. Just saying...

Just as a point of reference, at xjt they are required to have at least 10% reserve staffing for each base, seat, and domicile. Otherwise anyone who loses a day off get is restored at 150% and get an additional vacation day. As for ready reserve, they are not allowed to assign the same pilot two days in a row of ready reserve, no more than 6 ready reserve assignments in a bid month, cannot adding ready reserve on the last day of a block of reserve days, released from ready reserve 30 minutes after last plane blocks out, automatically release from ready reserve, and ready reserve is only 4 hours for 4 hours of pay.

If we vote no, what's to stop the company from offering a larger signing bonus for all new hires and give us nothing in return?
If you vote yes what's to stop them from offering the new pay and a bonus?

Word on the street in ORD is we are about to open a Miami base for AA. The pilot who's been the major part of working with AA ops in Chicago hasn't been bidding recently and has been spending most of his time in Miami on company business. Plan is to announce in a few weeks to a month. Coincidence the pay package gets offered to us right now so we all vote it in before we find out about a bunch of new flying?
