Correct. 8 EMB-120's and 20 CRJ's (class size).
I had to sign a 1 year contract with my current 135 charter outfit. I sent an email back to Camielle saying I would not be available untill April 2014 and she wrote back that it would be no problem. Maybe an abreviated interview when the time came. This was the big question I had as I pulled my hair out all during the winter wondering which path I should take. No one here really knew how Skywest would react when the time came. Some said the bridge would be burned forever. Thankfully that does not look like the case at all. Very understanding people in the HR department.

Who knows what competitive hours would look like to get hired by Skywest in about 4-5 months?
Here is my situation. I am currently instructing my life away in PHX, I have 1200TT and 70 Multi. Just about to meet the mins. I would like to apply to Skywest as soon as I am eligible.
I am wondering what the pool looks like and what the difference is (in terms of hours) between eligible and competitive?

To be quite honest, the biggest factor in SKYW hiring practices has always been "can we fly a 4-day trip with you?" If you've kept your nose clean, show up dressed professionally, prepare a bit, didn't pencil whip your logbook (yeah, they'll probably take a good look), and come across like a normal and humble human being, the job is usually yours to lose. It's the pilots who don't know how to read a Jepp chart, can't fly an ILS approach, don't know the systems on the most sophisticated aircraft they've flown, or come in with an arrogant attitude (BTW, this most definitely includes the "I only want to fly the jet" mentality) that don't get invited to class. Hope this helps!

How hard would IAH be for a new hire to get assuming there is a CRJ spot to be had?

You'll probably start out in MSP or ORD as an RJ new hire but I would expect you could get IAH after not too long. There are a lot of Brasilia pilots coming off seat lock now though since they haven't hired in about 7 months. A lot of new hires will probably go to the bro.
