There are very few EMB F/Os who are both eligible AND have any selected as their bid. If they offer a class to new hires before these few, they will be eligible for CRJ pay.
There are currently only about 30 bids that qualify however. It should also be noted that the July bids are not out yet, so there very well could be a transition class starting with the new hires.

Correct. 8 EMB-120's and 20 CRJ's (class size).
I had to sign a 1 year contract with my current 135 charter outfit. I sent an email back to Camielle saying I would not be available untill April 2014 and she wrote back that it would be no problem. Maybe an abreviated interview when the time came. This was the big question I had as I pulled my hair out all during the winter wondering which path I should take. No one here really knew how Skywest would react when the time came. Some said the bridge would be burned forever. Thankfully that does not look like the case at all. Very understanding people in the HR department.

But you might want to look at the options to bail early on the 135 contract...you could miss a lot of movement in a year. If you're logging turbine PIC (real, not sole-man) at the 135 op, then it might make sense to gut it out.

So once Skywest people have bid on any available transition class slots the remaining available slots (and seats being vacated by pilots transitioning) will go to new-hires? Maybe I'm just being a blond right now but how are there CRJ classes for new hires, wouldn't current transitioning Skywest pilots take all the slots when their seat locks come up? Are those slots just what happen go be available at that time?
And what does having "any" in their bid signify?
Sorry if these were answered previously. Outsider looking in.

Ahhhhhhh, ok that makes sense now. Thanks guys! Was it common in the past for guys coming off their year EMB seat lock to get a west (DEN and west) CRJ base? I'm sure more guys have a specific base than an "any" bid.
