I have talked to no FO's that want to commute to Chicago for the 175. If you love there or already commute there sure, but I feel most new hires will go to it. I hope I'm wrong but no one wants to risk a three year seat lock

I think you're way off. There's only 30 slots open for the 175 right now and the 40 you're referring to would be for, those first 30 slots. I think once a route structure and pay are established, I believe the 175 will go mid to high seniority level in their respective bases just like the 700/900 do now. I wouldn't expect guys from senior bases like SLC, SFO, SEA ect... To bid into the 175 and commute to ORD or possibly IAH.
In all, I wouldn't expect new hires getting into the 175 for sometime.

Anywho I doubt itd go JR.

No one is bidding it because we don't know anything. I live in Chicago and still won't bid it. I don't know if it'll be a pay raise or cut, I don't know how long the seat lock is, I don't know if I'll keep my Delta benefits or not. The company opening the bid without telling us anything is pretty sleazy. I'm not going to bid it until I know how it will affect my life.

Any guesses to how long it will be before SkyWest offers the CRJ to new hires? Any idea how many Brasilia FOs need to get transitioned still?

To anyone who is trying to get a west coast base: take the brasilia first year. I held a line for most of my first year in a west coast domicile and made more money than my friends on the CRJ. It's definitely not a bad deal compared to starting in MSP on reserve on the RJ if you live in California.

They're hoping that by having pilots lined up around the block to fly it they'll get some kind of negotiating advantage over SAPA for the pay rates.

Unfortunately no matter what the pay scale ends up being you'll have FOs bidding captain upgrades. Even on brasilia captain pay any FO awarded the upgrade is going to get a raise. I'm not sure why any captain or FO would be bidding just a transition to it right now though.
