Because Mesa can't buy them on their own. Plus it gives United the option to shuffle the planes with OO, Mesa and eventually Trans States/Compass

The problem with Mesa is they have a poor history when it comes to placing new types in service quickly and effectively.

The shuffle option is an important consideration but it does not absolutely preclude UAL-owned airplanes going to SKW.

I do suspect that UAL will want to farm some 175s out to low-bidders just to maintain competitive pressure, there are other more competent low bidders than MAG. Or they might just stick with consistency and quality and give to SKW, knowing that they can get a shorter-term and more flexible contract if SKW doesn't have to buy the planes. The certification, training, and Mx overhead is already accounted for.

Couple questions for Skywest folks about IAH. How senior is the base? How many crews based there? How are the lines? What are the trips like? How is the breakdown in flying between 200/700/900? Thanks for the info!

Mainly 700 trips, but you do have some 900/200 pairings. I'd imagine with the 175s coming, flight time/duty time and mainline hiring ect... It's feasible to bid into IAH after a year. At this time, new hires are getting the Bro but that can change quickly.

How's the training program coming along? Have they hired check airmen?

Mesa will need access to the aircraft a month or two before it enters service for check airman IOE, familiarization flights and proving runs. Adding a new fleet type is a mountain of work, especially during the sequester and on such a short timeline.

Deliveries slated for 1Q 2014.

SkyWest is not getting them. Read Klen's From the Top on Skywest online. They have been awarded to another carrier

How do the pairings look in IAH? Number of legs, overnights, and days off for line holders? Thanks!

Would it be advantageous to email CE your resume if you had her contact info or just keep updating airlineapps. I know some recruiters are ok with that and some not so much.

Thanks guys.

I was just saying that it's confirmed now that Skywest is not getting them
