I agree and I appreciate the fight RJ's putting up, but if it did somehow make it to the pilot group for a vote I’d vote no. Although I think it would pass and afterwards you’ll never find a pilot who would admit to voting yes. Lol I’m sure you remember the pay vote back in 06 that offer the RJ pilots a meager 1% and gave nothing to the Bro Boyz. That passed by over 60%.

for new SkyWest pilots that have health insurance prior to hire, option to "opt out" of health insurance thru SkyWest, so no cost?

My wife and I use her Health Insurance so there's no need to opt out, just don't opt in. I do recommend getting SkyWest’s Short Term Disability Insurance. It’s inexpensive and takes the average of your highest 3 grossing months over the last 12 and pays you 60%. If you’re based in CA then no need since its state law that you pay into CA Disability which pays 55%. It’s also the ONLY Disability Insurance in the nation that pays men for "family Bonding" after you have a child. That’s right; have a kid, take FMLA and CA will pay you 55% of your gross for 6 weeks. I was based in FAT when my second child was born and during my time based in CA I paid the state about $300 in premiums but they paid me over $6,000 in "Family Bonding." And people wonder why the state is practically bankrupt. lol

Someone else might remember more clearly, regardless I expect these E-175 HUBs to turn into pilot domiciles at some point.
what's the difference between a HUB and a domicile?

I think in this case a hub is wherever the mainline partner has a central operation, i.e. LAX for DL/UA, SFO for UA, etc or there is a large percentage of aircraft movements. A domicile is wherever crews are based, so at SkyWest that includes outstations such as PSP, FAT and SBP. In the case of the 175s crews will be ORD domiciled to start but could fly a large portion of their trips through hubs elsewhere, LAX, SFO, DEN, IAH, etc.

So all 175 pilots report to work in ORD and finish their trip in ORD?

Yessir, at least until we open up new 175 domiciles that'll be the case.

California isn't broke. It's running a budget surplus.

projected budget "surplus" of $4B is 1/2 of what CA owes Feds, 1/8 of other current debts due and more....CA needs min $50-$60B to satisfy currents debts/obligations.....CA state finances are improving, but will take years to repay current debts/obligations.
