Are the ERJ's in Houston yet?
Anyway to get houston right away from training?
Sfo base is still attainable as well in the 120 for a new hire?

E-175 in ORD. DEN and SFO have been announced as other bases but no date on that yet. IAH is fairly junior, so it shouldn't be too long of a wait if you don't get it out of training. SFO should be attainable on the E-120. There is consistent movement right now, so getting your base of choice shouldn't take too long.

I felt / feel the same way. Ive gotten a little better at it, but still not a PBS guru. Ive flown with a couple Captains who are savvy with it and have provided some good tips. It's certainly a trial and error kind of system. The PBS home page has a link on the top left, "ONLINE DOCs". When I bid, I'll open that in a separate window and reference it while Im building my bid. There is an "Avoid Reserve" selection by the way. Take care.

Have any of the bids/awards, ie, transfer awards gone out yet? I'm still trying to figure SWOL out but I'm not sure if there was an Easter delay or what.

They've been out for 5+ days. I can't remember if you get a priority message or not if your transfer is accepted. Anyways, swol, operations, standing bid list, awards. Change the dates if you don't want to funnel through the FA awards.

Next one for pilots won't come out till the first week in May. Expect the DVR, domicile vacancy report, near the end of April.

I'm always baffled when people say that. I'd suggest learning it even if you're still on reserve and it doesn't matter much. Start messing around with things now. This is your life you're bidding on. One mistake can cause you a whole month worth of hurt when you get close to the targeted lines. Also people senior will sometimes bid reserve. Even if you're way outside of targeted lineholders it's beneficial to try to bid a line. I've seen the most junior guy in base get a full line once because the base was understaffed and senior people bid all of the reserve lines.

The FA I was just flying with had no idea how to use PBS and ended up with a reserve line as a commuter even though she was within targeted line holders. People junior to her got lines. She was angry and asked me to look at her bid and it took me 2 seconds to figure out why she got reserve. Had she known even a slight bit about how to bid she would have had a full line with more days off and more pay.

Ok thx. I was under the impression that awards were posted on the 20th of each month.

The PBS line awards must be out by 9am on the 20th of each month, then on sked+ by the 24th at 8pm. The vacancy awards are typically posted around 5-6 of each month. The June DVR should be out in a little over a week.

Houston is attainable but the 175 will not be based there. Mesa is getting some 175 flying out of IAH. Its about 80% -700 flying and rest is -200. So you'll def fly the 700 more often being based there.
