The most junior line holder in MSP is 1.5 years. ORD is just under 2 years. The most junior line holders in FAT and SFO on the Brasilia are 2-4 months.

My guess would be to replace some of the CHQ flying... No details yet on how many aircraft.

I've never heard a word about anybody paying attention to how long you stay at SkyWest before you leave. I'm not even sure there is a serious exit interview, besides handing in your badge and the chief pilot saying: "congrats, where are you headed?"

We've had quite a rash of well qualified military guys and gals coming to SkyWest lately (with intentions to leave). The majors are still working through well connected civilians, check airmen and O-5s (and up), so the 6-15 year active duty and guard/reservists are coming to the better regionals in droves. Better to separate and be ready to make the jump to a legacy when they call, then to defer 3 months of class dates while you get your paperwork in order.

COS or DEN aren't unrealistic in your first year here, and besides great lakes, I don't really know if there are any better 121 options for somebody west of the plains states. Good luck, and let me know if you'd like any info.

Has Skywest announced any future class dates? If so, would you please share those dates?

Thanks in advance.

They don't really announce the class dates to the general pilot group. People who work in the training center or who have been there recently will usually just find them out by word of mouth.

For at least the last 6 months there has been a new hire class that started the last week of every month. I would expect that trend to continue. A class started this week and the next one is probably the last week of March.

Thanks again!

Does anyone know the average acceptance rates after the interviews? The rumor mill has it anywhere from if you are breathing to entire days of interviewees being turned down.

Mileage will vary day by day. I interviewed with 10 people and 2 of us were hired. I'm sure there have been interview days where almost everyone has been hired. I don't think even in a severe shortage Skywest would be the kind of company that will hire just anyone. The captains on the interview team are looking for people that they would enjoy flying with.

When I was hired at SkyWest, it was known as having the hardest interview out of any of the regional airlines. I imagine that is still the case. In particular, I found the Frasca sim evaluation to be the hardest part. A few gotchas there if I remember.
